Question about Braun Aromaster KF 400 Coffee Maker

2 Answers

The rocker switch has been a problem for years. It doesn't "click" back and forth anymore; it just moves. Originally it would not ever turn off, so we just plugged and unplugged the machine; now, it is permanent "off." Several other inquirers with such problems were advised to "replace the switch" - but where in the world can you find the exact rocker switch that will fit properly in the housing?

Bypassing the switch entirely, as suggested by one "expert," could also likely lead to bypassing the fuse and cause a fire hazard. Not acceptable. I need to find a replacement switch! Anybody have an old KF-400 that could be cannibalized?

It's not a matter of cleaning it. I took the switch out of the housing, and it's clear that the metal contact points inside aren't dirty - they're loose, and no longer "in contact" with anything. I've sent a message to the website you suggested, and I'll see what, if anything, they can provide. Thanks.

It's clear the rocker switch is kaput. I took it out of the housing, and the metal contact points are loose inside. I've sent a message inquiring about a replacement switch to the website ZJLimited provided and can only hope one is available.

Are you try cleaning the switch? If that don't work then replace the switch. Try to find or ask about your parts request in THIS LINK.

Hope helps.

If you can't find a suitable switch, then you could by-pass the switch and carry on as before!

What's the difference between a spring rocker and a swivel rocker?

Spring rockers are like the traditional rockers that use an arc to move back and forth. Main difference is that they use a set of mounted springs. Swivel rockers on the other hand use a swivel mechanism.

What is a glider rocker?

A glider rocker is a type of rocking chair that moves back and forth on a flat plane instead on a curvy one like in the traditional rocking chairs. It is considered more comfortable and takes less space than the traditional rocker.

I moved my xbox360 while disk spinning in it,the current game doesn't work so good anymore, and now it makes tick-tick noises sometimes when game disks are playing. It reads all disks, theres no problem...

The users manual for the xbox 360 says to never move the console with a game inside. In doing so, you probably knocked the disc off the spindle causing it to grind against the laser and laser assembly. The ticking noise is probably from the motor that moves the laser back and forth across the disc. A spring may have come loose from the motor causing it to click as the screw occasionally slips from the guides. This should not cause a problem, however the plastic inside the motor may wear out causing the "open tray" error after some time in which case a repair will be necessary.

When setting my timers should the manual switch be left in the on or off position?

Either position is fine.
The override is not permanent ON or OFF since it moves back and forth when trippers pass.
The trippers push a lever back and forth that opens and closes electrical circuit.
When the lever moves back and forth, it also clicks the override back and forth with audible sound.
If the timer is ON, you can move the override to OFF.
When the next ON tripper rotates around, it will move the override back to ON.
So the override just temporarily overrides the timer function.

Power seat 2004 infiniti g35

I found the best (quick-cheap) solution for an inoperable power seat that you know the fuse is not blown on was to use Contact/Control Cleaner & Lubricant that you can find a radio shack. I moved the switches up and back enough to get the end of the nozzle straw between the gaps and worked it back and forth. As soon as I started to work the switch back and forth, the cleaner must have begun to eat away at the previous owners spilled, thick coffee residue and the seat began to move. This worked better than the rubbing alcohol I tried originally. --Great stuff!

The toggle button on the zoom is stuck on high magnification. It moves back and forth but will only go from 28 magnification to 34 magnification

This is most likely a defective zoom rocker switch assembly and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

How do i use the primer rocker switch

A rocker switch is an on/off switch that rocks (rather than trips) when pressed, which means one side of the switch is raised while the other side is depressed much like a rocking horse rocks back and forth. A rocker switch may have a circle (for "on") on one end and a horizontal dash or line (for "off") on the other to let the user known if the device is on or off. Rocker switches are used in surge protector s, display monitors, computer power supplies, and many other devices and applications.
A rocker switch with independent circuitry can have a light activated on the face of the switch in both the on and off positions, which allows the switch to be found easily in the dark. With dependent circuitry, the light is activated only when the switch is on.

Replace switch on electrolux 2100

The 2100 is an older model which is prone to rocker switch failure. What you see outside is only a switch button. Underneath is a plastic rocker which sits in a grove and pivots back and forth to activate the on off switch.
If you push the switch down and there is no audible "click" you Likely need the rocker itself, especially if you tip the vac upside down and shake it and hear a piece rattling inside or find a broken narrow plastic finger about 1/2" inch long when opened.
However if it clicks and works every 3-5 times, the rocker is fine and you will need the spring mechanism and switch button which you can see form outside.
To remove either the process is the same.
Separate the body by opening the bag cage and pulling the two bumpers forward with a set of pliers. They are locking keys. Once removed, the rear housing will drop off allowing the vac to hinge open back to front. Do this with the vac laying upside down and observe the hinge section of the front bag door .DO NOT REMOVE THE MOTOR. You will need to clip all these componnets back together to reassemble and slide the bag chamber back to seat against the motor with the motor housing engage in the ribbing of the vac side walls.
With the vac open you will only need to remove the spring loaded bag lockout switch and the bag housing it sits on, not the motor or rewind..
Once removed there will be 6 chrome philips screws visible. These hold the top trim on the front of the vac and the front ones hold the on off switch into its housing. At the very front will be two screws going through a black or whitish switch housing. That housing will lift out with wires attached to reveal the switch rocker, etc,. This portion will lift back and out at about 45 degrees of the inner housing, as a unit. The switch button sits atop the rocker via two end tabs and will pop off the housing to reveal if the rocker itself has a broken "finger" or if the button has a weak spring.
The suspect spring is not the coil rocker spring but the thin U shaped spring on the underside of the switch button. Remove the rocker spring with a pair of needle nose pliers.and examine the rocker comparing to your new one.Use more vaseline on the new rocker and if you have it reinsert the clear flex plastic into the coil spring. If not disregard.
Re-installation is the reverse order, tuck switch back in at 45 degrees from back to front.
Pay special attention the the rubber seal at the back of the bag cage.
If anything is misaligned in this body you will fight to reassemble. Don't fight it , back up and look at your work. When and ONLY when it is perfect it will realign and click together like a lego set and the keys will slide in perfectly
You can and should test the vac before reassembling the whole body, simpley slide your hand under neath and activate the switch, with a bag inside the vac.
See now, wasn't that EASY???????
Please post back to advise how you make out. Its a 7 minute process worth $25 for a good tech. A bad tech will spend half a day trying to figure this one out but just go slow and follow the instructions and you will do fine.
