Question about GE WJSE4150B Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Our top load GE washer leaves a lot of suds when washing towels, even though I use a minimum of detergent. Also I notice that sometimes there is a tiny amount of water at the bottom when the load is finished. Is it not draining properly?

If you recently washed a rug perhaps and it came apart a babys sock or something came apart then it sounds like the pump is part restricted and will have to be cleaned.

Suds message

The suds message usually means that there was too much detergent in the machine for the load. Remember to use a HE detergent and use the recommended amount. For a small load, use just enough detergent to reach the minimum detergent line (if there is one). Otherwise, you should use about half of the usual amount of detergent for a small load compared to a large load.

Usually the washer will add an additional rinse to remove the extra suds. If you notice detergent is still on your clothes, run the load through the washer on the same cycle without adding more detergent.

I hope this helps.

Tip

Odor from your towels or clothes washer?

With newer higher efficiency washing machines flooding the market today, new issues arise. One annoyance is odor of mildew on towels or coming from the front load or even top load machines.

With a little maintenance and care this trouble can be eliminated and avoided in the future.

If you currently have the odor locate one of the following products

- Affresh
- Smelly Washer

Run the hottest cycle without clothes and the product you chose. If the washer is especially bad you may need to run a second clean out using another dose.

After the washer is clean be sure you only use the recommended detergent for your product. HE detergents are required for most all front loading machines and a lot of new top loading machines too. This is very important, because if the wrong type is used it can cause build up in hidden areas that will cause odors as well as performance issues and even premature failures of components.

Do not use any additives that are not recommended for your machine, check with the manufacturer or owners guides for specifics.

Leave the lid or door open at least partially when not in use, this will move air through the unit to help keep odors away.

Use the Affresh or similar product once a month in the machine to keep anything from building up where you can't see.

Display window saying "Suds" and nothing appears to be happening inside; just seeing lots of bubbles. Did a cold load of bathmats, set on "towels" for extra rinse.

You have apparently used an excess of detergent for this process. Try draining the suds out to a reasonable level, then resume the wash if you can. Hope this helps!

Towell cycle taking longer than before

The washer only uses a tiny amount of water to do them clothes. If you use more than a teaspoon of HE low sudsing detergent that washer will detect suds and take extra steps to rid the suds. This causes motor problems.

Suds leaking from back of washer near top

Suds are not supposed to leak from the top; means you are not using the right detergent. Use front loading powders. You can open up the top during next wash to locate where the leak is coming from (after changing powder). I understand suds appear in the window during spin....but leak? Caution when machine works with top open!

rate if helped pl........
