There may be a way to get into Safe Mode and download Malwarebytes Free virus killer.

1. With your computer off, press the power button and hit the F8 key repeatedly until a windows opens offering your choices to enter Safe Mode.
2. Using the arrow keys, scroll to "Safe Mode with Networking" and hit enter key.
3. When you get to your desktop go to the link below and download and install Malwarebytes

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

4. Run the program using Quick Scan and it will probably grab the virus and let you remove it. Then boot back to normal.

Good Luck,

Selk

Trying to load windows xp service pack 2 forgot my password

Hi,

For XP professional

When the computer gets to the login screen hold down both Ctrl and Alt and then hit the Del key twice. A new login window will appear.
In the top pane type administrator and hit enter. Hopefully you can log in as admin. If it lets you in go to the control panel and select "User Accounts" select "Change an Account" and the click on your account and remove the password. Click Apply and log out.

You should then be able to access your account.

For XP Home

Restart the computer and repeatedly press F8 until you see a list with safe mode at the top. Navigate to safe mode using the up cursor key and hit enter. You will see white text on the screen, this just means its loading up its basic drivers, so be patient!!

When you get to the login screen click on administrator and let it load up. Now all you have to do is go to the control panel, user accounts, change an account, click on your account and remove the password.

Please post back if you need anymore advice.

Good luck.

Hello.

Either you have a memory issue or operating system problem.

First, try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

If still a problem, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, everything, including your documents and other files you saved on the hard drive, will roll back to that date.

If still a problem, the last choices are Factory Restore and reinstall. Accessing Factory Restore (restores to the factory settings and will wipe out anything that you have installed or saved on your PC), is dependent on your hardware manufacturer. Boot your system and press F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Ctrl+F11 to access Factory Restore. Follow the prompts.

If still not resolved, you'll probably need to reinstall your operating system.

Hope this helps.

I have a malata notebook pc which i bought from china. Now it kept hanging after i work on it for 10 minute.i change the memory, format the hard drive and do sort of thing. what can i do.

Once it freezes up, have you tried pressing the CTRL + ALT + DEL? If the CTRL + ALT + DEL did not work, then its a hardware lockup. Hardware lockups are usually problems with hardware, failing memory being the common cause.

Though you change the memory, that does not mean that the memory is working correctly. Try testing the memory, use a bootable CD to start and run your computer. let it run for several hours and see if it reports any memory problems.

If everthing checks out ok, there are some more Operating system idenpendent ways to isolate the problem. Contact a technician to see if the problem is the hardware or the software.

Have a good day!

Acer aspire 6920 back to factory settings

Acer sent me these instructions.

The other way before Vista starts up is to tap ALT + F10 (at the same time repeatedly) when the computer is first switched on.. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts

Once you have tapped both the ALT and F10 repeatedly, you may see a screen showing:

“Edit Boot options for Microsoft Windows Vista”

If you see this, unfortunately, you have missed the window of opportunity, and you need to restart, and try again.

If you see this:
“Edit Boot options for Windows Setup” OR “Edit Boot options for Acer eRecovery”

Then it indicates that you have tapped the ALT + F10 correctly, and all you now need to do is press “Enter” and the Recovery program should load on your screen after a short pause..

In some cases, you may need to remove the battery (for notebooks only) and run the machine directly from the mains.

The Disk2Disk recovery feature allows you to recover the system without recovery CDs.

This will return your system to factory settings and will delete everything stored on the machine.
If possible we strongly advise backing up anything important on your machine before starting the recovery process.

Windows XP will load - then wont go any more.

Hello,
When you get to that empty screen, try hitting CTRL+ALT+DELETE.  If you can get task manager to come up, try going to file, run, and typing "C:\windows\explorer.exe".  If that doesn't work perform the following steps:
Reboot the computer.  (Hold the power button for more than 4 seconds to turn it off, wait a few seconds, then hit the power button again)
When the Acer logo shows, press ALT+F10.
Follow the instructions on screen to perform a recovery.  This will erase all your files, and reset the computer back to factory defaults.
If that still doesn't work, send it back to Acer.  You've got a dud.

Can not get laptop to enter bios

On many of the MPC laptops, the bios can be brought up at boot by pressing the F2 key. Generally, while booting, the screen will show you the button to push. Here are some more of the most used key combinations you can also try. On our mpc support site, there is no manual available yet for this model. Also, mpc laptops have the capability to lock out the bios at users request so many used models obtained cannot be changed. We'll have a new support site for mpc up this summer. Details at mpcsupport@cox.net
Most of the time during boot-up the key (combination) will be shown. If it is not, then you could try the following key combinations:
  • Del
  • F1
  • F2
  • F10
  • Ins
  • Esc
  • Ctrl+Alt+Esc
  • Ctrl+Alt+Enter
  • Ctrl+Alt+Ins after Ctrl+Alt+Del
  • Ctrl+Ins
  • Ctrl+Alt+S
  • Ctrl+S
  • Ctrl+Shift+Esc
  • Shift+Ctrl+Alt + Num Pad Del
  • Ctrl+Esc
  • Ctrl+Alt and +
