Question about Kitchen Ranges
I have the same stove but do not have a problem with the oven door hinges but rather the glass cooker hood hinges--although my knobs are starting to burn. Both hinges have popped in separate occasions and both times I have called the Cape Town agent foo Eurogas and had fantastic responses from them. http://www.eurafrican.co.za/contactus.html

Fix for oven door that wont close properly - Italian made wide gas stoves
Chances are, it is not the hinges responsible for a loose door that will not close tight. Chances are the 13mm by 5 mm (my guess) hinge rollers have broken or worn out. If you paid a repairman to fix the door and he did not replace the hinge receivers - you have paid a quack.
The hinge recievers are quickly removed for inspection by removing 2 phillips head screws, and they sort of drop down - ready for inspection.
The hinge levers press up on these hinge rollers. if the feeble axle wears out, the rollers fall out, so the door just slops about loosely.
The hinges fit in hinge receivers or hinge supports, those 2 vertical slots that the oven door sits in. Sick a bit of firm straight wire - like from a coat hanger, and push it in and see if there is a roller that works towards the top.
If not remove the 2 screws and retrieve the hinge assembly, and you will see a roller or not. These oven hinges may also go under Glem and Bauermatic and Emilla. SMEG hinges are close but annoyingly different, but they have the right size roller if you want to do a transplant.
You can probably get something close on ebay or amazon - search on hinge receiver. Mob from UK is about 5 pound each.
I went to the local rubbish dump, and paid $2 for 2 hinge receivers of a Chef oven. These fit but will not work. The chef hinge and receiver pair MIGHT work, but wont because the hinge screw mounting hole are about 5mm in the wrong place. Seems every oven manufacturer designs incompatibility, and oh to close, but not identical parts.
In the chef hinge receiver, they have a plastic wheel, a bit bigger than the proper steel one. I removed the wheels from this receiver and using a soft metal bolt as an axial with nut mounted / transplanted it in the two holes just above where it should be mounted. Although it has a larger diameter, placing it 3 mm higher in the predrilled hole works a treat.
It worked, Oven door fixed. I speculate drilling holes in small coins, one could fabricate a V wheel of sorts too

We read your post with interest... We are in South Africa and are currently considering buying a Eurogas 900 gas/Electric stove. Apart from your problem with the hinges, could you recommend it?

I gather that the supplier is EurAfrican. See their website.

The issue with those Thermador wall oven and freestanding range doors ( especially on the freestanding "professional" line ) is the weight of the door is so great, the hinge will actually move slightly over time, other times the entire hinge will need to be replaced.
This is what I'd recommend ( also official Thermador remedy, rest assured as I am a authorized factory trained Thermador service provider ) before pronouncing the hinges need replacing though.
**This does require a somewhat involved repair, so if you don't feel completely comfortable or have any reservation to trying this, please call in an local authorized Thermador ( B/S/H/ ) service provider.**
Recommendation: Adjust the door box hinge per instructions below.
1. Pull the oven away from the wall about 12".
2. Remove the hinge box cover plates.
3. Remove the vertical side trim piece. It covers one of the screws that must be loosened.
4. Loosen the 4 screws that secure the hinge box.
5. Place a rolled up dishtowel at the bottom of the door and close the door and apply light pressure to the door while re-tightening the four screws.
See fig below
6. Re-install the hinge box covers & side trims.
7. Re-install and secure the oven.
That should do it, ( or as stated, improve the situation ) if the hinges are too far gone they will need to be replaced unfortunately.
Let me know if you require further assistance or if indeed this solved your problem.
Thank you for choosing FixYa today and good luck going forward.
