HI, it is possible to operate most of any flat screen t.v.'s function using buttons on t.v. These are marked as follows: + and - are for volume and when in the menu for either moving up/down or to the left and right, the < and > are to change the Channels ( also used in menu mode to scroll either up and down or to the left and right ), then you should have a button marked INPUT, maybe A/V this switches between your sources ( the t.v.'s tuner,cable,sat,p.c. input, dvd, aux, hdmi, and so forth, then you have a power button and last but not least the MENU button to adjust it. also if you have a remote for a cable/satellite box with a manual it may be able to operate an APEX( pretty common actually ) if no manual for said remote-cable/satellites customer service have been know to help quite readily. I hope this has been of some help, good luck, Prodzilla

Thanks for the reply. The button on the side of the TV cannot get it off the "mode" it is on. I have tried the remote for the satalite and the dvd player and both don't work - we have also tried a universal remote but it cannot work until it is off this retail/home mode? I have tried customer service at APEX and they are useless I am still waiting for a remote because one was not in the box when we purchased back in December?!?!? We couldn't take back to store because we are in Canada and we purchased in the US.
I have asked them for their help to get it off this mode without the remote and they said that it can't be done?!?!?
    Any other thoughts???
    Thanks so much!!

Hi, Provided you can turn the T.V. off, then you can try a RESET-even if there's no button or little hole to press in-it may be possible to try a variation of key inputs(buttons-usually two at a time)I'd suggest when tv is off ( again probably will work best if T.V. was switched off) press and conintinue to hold the Power button. , then move on to repeating the process and adding a second button( we assume it will take more than one try, the t.v. manufacters do not make it impossible-only difficult for operation without their remote ( Encourages new remote purchases) too) while tv is off press an hold in lets say the Menu button then press powere button until t.v. turns on,. also their may be a small switch somewhere actually ( in fine print?)marked display mode: demo/normal. Just get creative: these T.V. are pretty crash proof unless they're broke. Nearly anything you do can be " UNDONE " by unpugging for a long enough period of time. :) So that about wraps it up. It may take a few try's but being 'Stuck " in a mode sounds like just a progaramming matter with some trial and error involved. I hope was more helpful, Podzilla

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Tv is stuck on Video 1 and the remote is missing.Won't respond to the cable remote except on and off. HELP

Try pressing tv first on your cable remote then the video/source/input button on the cable remote. If there is no button on the television itself to switch video inputs a temporary fix for now is to connect the cable box to the video 1 female parts on your television. Buy the cables to do that if you don't have a spare set lying around. You can purchase a remote for your television with the model number from or even a Sanyo remote from a thrift store should be able to allow you to switch inputs.

The store demo mode is stuck on my insignia tv. the user guide says go to menu and then setup and select plug & play. however the plug and play option is grey and it wont let me select it.

Are you using an HDMI cable? Go to input and select TV. Then you should be able to access the Plug & Play option and be able to turn off the Demo Mode.

Box was working, tv now back to analog

Sounds like the converter didn't make it. The symptoms you describe sound like the converter was working and then died. You may want to bring it back to store were you got it.

I have the same tv and i just fixed it! mine was a display model at wal mart so it was set to reset to Dynamix (fixed) after 30 minutes of no remote activity

THE FIX: switch to TV MODE and select the EZ SETUP from the option menu
when you get to the TV LOCATION option select HOME

The STORE option resets the TV after 30 mins of remote control inactivity in case someone messes up the picture settings in case someone playing with it while it was on display at the store

I am an AV dealer in NJ and we always use remotes my universial master and they solve the problem 95% of the time. My favorite to use is the MX-850 because it's PC programmable and has most all the codes. You can also program macros which life easier. is the site to check out.. we sell those too.. Sometimes e-bay has them soooo cheap I can't match.. Good luck
