On a Windows Visa or Windows 7, you can re-enable your wireless card by doing the following.
Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center. Then click Change Adapter Settings which should be in the top-left corner of the window. Once there, you should see your wireless card which you can right click and select Enable to power up again.
