Question about JVC Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a JVC HD52Z585AA rear projection tv that comes on and shuts off after about 15 seconds. The power light and the bulb lights continue to flash after it shuts off. Is this a bulb problem or heat sensor problem?

Hi, it definitely sounds like heat sensor- although neither can be ruled out. I would try removing the " GRILLE " assembly for the bulb, there should be a FILTER that may be obstructed-dust it/clean off/out and that may help, Good luck, Prodzilla

very temper mental these things if it isn't the bulbs it could be one of the control boards that operates the pic and sound, but sometimes you have to keep messing around with the bulbs

Replaced bulb but tv comes only comes on for about 10 to 15 seconds then shuts down and red light flashes

It sounds like you have a bad ballast board, or possibly the power supply going to the ballast bulb. I'm afraid that if you do not have the repair experience on solid state TV sets, you will need to contact and authorized Mitsubishi repair center. Good Luck

If the light continues to flash with no picture and you still get sound, your bulb is out. Though it could be any number of issues. To reset a Mitsubishi, hold the power button down for approx. 10-15 seconds until you hear a faint click.

TV wont turn on

The main power supply is failing or it is shutting down because of a fault on the output side of it and it is trying to protect itself from overload which can cause a fire. Contact Zenith customer service and describe the problem, particularly the flashing LED which may be giving you an error code.

Your power transformer is likely shot. It'll cost at least $200 to have it replaced. Someone can come to your house to diagnose it. Usually costs around $65.
