Question about HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I keep getting a carriage jam error message. There doesn't appear to be a jam, but I am unable to clear the message and print anything. Also the display screen reads original loaded. No idea what this means or if it is related.

Check the location of the ink carriage. If a piece of paper gets wadded up under this or something else is obstucting it you will see this error.

The original loaded message comes up when a sheet of paper is in the scanner tray.

Carriage jam error

A paper jam

If you've had a paper jam, normally after you clear it, a small amount of paper sometimes gets left behind and gets shunted onto the sidewall of the printer by the carriage, which stops the carriage reaching its full travel and throwing up an error, rendering the printer unable to print or carry out any other function. Simply remove the paper and switch printer off and on and it will reset.
If you have an error of any other kind, many remedies and fixes for these can be found on my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk/frame/pages/epson.htm

My printer keep saying clear carriage jam but there isnt anything that is still jamed. How do i fix this problem . I can't get it to work now

The printer is telling you that something is jamming the printer carriage, or the rod, that the print cartridges ride on. Open your printer up to where you would install your print cartridges, either front load or top load. See if you can find anything in the path of its movement.
Remove it, and try printing again.
Look for paper that may have jammed recently in the printer.
If that doesn't fis it, try moving the printer cartridge holder manually and then try to clear the message again.
Hope this helps.....

Carriage Jam?

Take a soft moist (not wet) cloth and clean the shining rod that the print cartridge slides on. Move the cartridge holde manually to clean complete rod. Dust from paper accumulates on it and thus hinders movement. DO NOT LUBRICATE THE ROD WITH OIL OR ANYTHING.

Epson R320 "General Error" message - unable to clear

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your Epson printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Fix 'Carriage Jam' : Open Door, clear carriage jam,
and then press OK to continue' error message
Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Carriage Jam

If either a paper jam or blocked carriage error message appears on
the control panel display, there might be some packing material inside the HP allin-
one. Lift open the print-carriage access door. The orange shipping lock might
still be in place on the left side of the HP all-in-one. Pull out the orange shipping
lock and throw it away

Carriage Jam

Make sure you can move the print cartridge holder freely and that it isn't being blocked by anything inside the printer, also check if the cleaning station is in the right position, maybe it is locking the cartridges.
