Nikon coolpix s710 pictures have a streak

I think your picture has a bright light source in the frame. In digital cameras this phenomenon is common that in some angle these streaks of lines are produced with very bright light sources. be careful not to include bright light source while taking pics. But if u have these streaks and line in all the frames, then better check your camera with the service centre.

Lost pictures on memory when chose format?

Formatting a memory card wipes out everything on it and prepares it for further use. You're supposed to do it AFTER you transfer all your pictures to your computer.

If you haven't done anything to the memory card since then, you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

My computer doesn't recognize my finepix jx310 camera

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Turn off protected mode

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Bright white light

I have had the same problem with my F-700

After calling Fujifilm Custom support here in Spain, I've noticed that camera series had a common failure at CCD SENSOR, NOT THE SCREEN.

IF THE PROBLEM IS CCD (IMAGE SENSOR) FUJIFILM WILL REPAIR IT FOR FREE!!!!

I AM NOT KIDDING. I'RECEIVED A MAIL FROM FUJI SPAIN ABOUT THAT

ALSO CHECKED THAT AT FUJIFILM USA THEY REPAIR IT FOR FREE

I guess the problem is CCD (at least in mine) because:

1- Started with
intermitent colour distorsions (dissapearing from time to time)
2- The problem became more frequent as time passed by
3- THE IMAGE IS PERFECT WHEN I PLAY PICTURES FROM THE MEMORY CARD

GOOD LUCK !

Fernando
