Timex 27191 Wristwatch Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 01, 2011

Hi, I have just purchased a Timex perpetual calendar watch, and the problem is that the date changes at midnight, as one would expect, but the day changes later, at about 3am or just after. There are 2 positions to the crown. The first changes the date only. When I pull the crown out completely, which is the only other position left, then it operates the hands and nothing else. Is there any way to synchronise the date and the day? Both should change at midnight! I am reluctant to return the watch over, I suppose, a small problem like this, but it is niggling that it is not actually working correctly. Yours, Mr Jones.

The middle position is usually used for changing the day and the date.

Turn it clockwise for one and anticlockwise for the other.

The fully out position usually stops the watch and is used to set the hands.

As you rightly observe, there are not many other options!

I assume that your haven't got any instructions for your watch so if the above does not solve your problem, then you can get instructions from the Timex web site "timex.com".

At the bottom of the screen click on "manuals/downloads", then on "product
manual download"

Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

I have also just purchased a Timex Perpetual Calendar watch and have the same issue. I called Timex and they say this is how these watches work and there is no way of getting the date and day to change together. The date changes at midnight and the day changes any time upto 3am. So I guess we have to live with it. Seems odd that Timex is incapable of making the two change together. Rather poor engineering I would say.

The date is advance by one day its a perpetual calendar timex watch

Hi isengard03,

Setting the day on your Timex analog watch is a simple process. Please follow the steps below.

Multi-Function Models

1. Pull the crown on the side of the watch case all the way out. This will be position "C," with position "A" having the crown pushed all the way in and position "B" being pulled out halfway.

2. Turn the crown clockwise until the correct day appears on the small face displaying the day.

3. Press the crown all the way in, to position "A."

Chronograph Models

1. Pull out the crown on the side of the case to position "B." This is halfway out. You will feel a slight click when the crown is in position "B."

2. Turn the crown clockwise until the watch face shows the correct day.

3. Push the crown all the way into position "A" to complete the process.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

How do i reset date after battery change? or where can i cet a pdf file a9no calliber number on case or movement but its a timex perpetual with indigo light approx 30 yers old

to reset the date manually, pull the stem out to the second position to reset TIME; manually continue setting time until the date is on the correct day/date.
I had to do this to get back to the proper date when my timex was off by a week. Nothing else worked. 14 times around (twice per 24 hour day) and each time I passed "midnight" the date advanced.
blessings!

I cannot set the calendar for this watch...can anyone help me?

mcdevito75 here, Your watch (Timex) may have a 2 position stem. Push the stem (winder) all the way in, NOW just lift the stem a little to it:s first position, this should allow the date, (number ) to change, change that number to the date before the date you want, NOW pull the stem out to set the hands, rotate the hands to set proper date and time.

How do i adjust the date on my classic watch?? pull the pin and rotate cw or ccw no changes.i have an indigo classic watch. does date need to be adjusted every 30 day months? thanks

You have to adjust the date every February (28 or 29 days), April, June, September and November (each 30 days). Self adjusting calendars are called Perpetual Calendars and this feature is quite expensive, especially in mechanical watches. Your watch has calendar ring with 31 days printed on and the simple calendar mechanism which is changing dates from 1 to 31 inclusive, day after day, so, when the 30-day month is ending and there is no 31st date to follow, your calendar is showing 31st anyway, instead of 1st of the next month. This is when you have to adjust date. Now about the date adjusting. If you pull out crown gently, you will notice there are two clicks (positions), not just one. So the first click, when crown is not pulled out fully, is exactly for day/date adjustment. If you pull the crown further out, watch is in hand adjustment mode. Try it carefully and you will find out the right position.
