Resolder cold solder joints at diodes in secondary of power supply.

There is probably a cracked or loose piece of metal somewhere for the power running from the board to the screen and speakers. It will most likely be on the board. See if you can find it, if you are choosing to fix it.

Be careful of electrical shock though

If you can't find it, a trained technician should be able to help you out.

You can also contact Daewoo about your problem and they can help you with any questions you might have and see what they would do in this case

SOURCE: Blinking red diode, TV won't turn on.

The power supply is the culprit when the TV fails to power ON. In this case there are shorted diode(s) , defective capacitors or open blown resistors in the circuitry. These power supplies are not longer manufactured, the solution at this point would be to repair it.

SOURCE: LG 32 LX1D won't turn on.

Unplug it from the wall for about an hour and see if it resets itself. Otherwise you will need to do troubleshooting insdie the set.

SOURCE: I have a SONY BRAVIA

If it does not turn on or turns on and then right back off it is most likely the power board.

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

I have a 26" Sylvania LCD TV that won't power up. Only a rapid flashing amber power light. Is that the light source gone bad - burned out ? Thanks MC

There is a diode located on the power supply of this set that has been a common problem. The location number of the diode is d558. If it is shorted then it will need to be replaced. There could also be other possibilities but this the most common problem that I have found in my notes. If this is the problem, a repair shop may get any where from $50-$150 to fix it. If you did it yourself, the diode would only cost a couple of dollars.

Check the zener diodes over by the fuses, where the 2 chokes or load coils are. TThere are 3 or 4 Of the diodes, they are zener diodes. I had the same problem and found it to be one bad zener diode. Check my solution out on the 7202, same thing.

Panasonic 47 HDTV blue looks green

What you have there is referred to as white balance... The Overall White Balance May Suddenly Change And Become More Red, Green, Or Blue Depending On Which Crt Has Been Affected. During Turn Off A Crt Might Arc, Causing D304 (Red), D331 (Green) D361 (Blue) Damage And Leak Changing Cutoff Levels. Replace Diodes With Panasonic Kit # Txask02gser. Kit Contains 3 Diodes And 3 100k Resistors. Install New Diode And Resistor In Series In Place Of Old Diode. Install Annode In Crt Socket Where The Old Annode Was. Then Connect Resistor To Cathode End, Other End Of Resistor Goes Into Pcb Where The Old Diode Cathode Was.
A job like this in my shop we charge $280.00 dollars plus tax which includes the kit... Also a pickup/delivery fee if we have to go and get the unit...
