Question about Asko W6221 Front Load Washer

Open Question

We have an asko model w6221/wm44a/107622110 ser 013610270536 and had a burnt control board . we got one from repair clinic that is for that model put it on and it does less then the burnt board. we followed the instructions that came with the new board because the board is for several models. you have to break tabs according to model. ours says do not break any so we didnt. elsewhere in the instructions it tells you to break the same tabs as the orginal board but it shows by the instruction sheet it would make it a 5 speed and our machine is a 7 speed. CONFUSED. Can you help me?

SOURCE: Asko front load washer, modle

Hi
The issue is with either clogged water lines or the water inlet valve that is bad and so the water won't enter the unit. When the water inlet valve goes bad it should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Not normally. Most manufacturers supply boards complete and ready to go in to replace a dud. Unless you know an electronics whiz who can identify what component(s) have failed, you are probably better off and reliability wise, to get a replacement board.

This seems to be a fault with the controller unit as there is no program cycle execution . So remore the power plug and let the processor reset, now try with different programs and if the cycle does not move it is possible that the controller unit is faulty.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Sorry to hear about your trouble shooting problems. I hope I can help move you forward in the right direction.

Have you run a self-diagnostic which is built into the Asko washer's control ? Furthermore, Did you initially receive an error code of "F6" ?

What led to the changing of the brushes in the motor, and was the motor windings ohm value checked to confirm or dismiss the motor was worth brushes ? The armature inspected ?

This how to run a fault tracing program ( in the event you don't know )

Let me know what you've done or found to this point and I'll try to help in whatever manner I can. It is possible the motor control board is the fault, but there is a means to get to that point first.

There was also a period of time during production some of the controls had the wrong fuse placed in them...se below for memo.

This is not very likely considering the age of your machine, however I felt it was worth mentioning. I'll watch for your next post.

Macmarkus :)

I have an Asko front load washer W6221. I have

I had identical problem. I diagnosed it to be the motor brushes on the front of the motor. They have an off switch in them when they get worn out. Easy to check and replace. Remove front lower panel (two torx 20 screws). Brushes are visible and are held with two screws each. One on each side of motor. Remove two screws on each brush and unattach wire. Two new motor brushes were around $75. Literally tooke 30 minutes to replace. Hope this is your issue!

Try to replace the motor brushes. This is the most usual problem on these machines.
