Drywall sheets are 4 feet wide. Thus, each foot of a drywall sheet contains 4 square feet. Divide 10,000 by 4 = 2500 linear feet of drywall sheets. Add 5 to 10% for wastage.

How cani i solve "x divided by 9 and x divided by 9 equals 4

x divided by 9 and 9 divided by 9 equals 4, so x divided by 9 equals half of 4 or 2. 2 times 9 equals 18, so x equals 18.

To check, 18 divided by 9 equals 2. 2 and 2 equals 4.

20 cm long how many of these blocks placed end to end will cover the length of a wall half a kilometre long/

We know that 1 kilometer is 100000 cm. We only want half a kilometer so divide 100000 by 2 (100000/2) this gives us 50000 cm. The blocks are 20 cm long so we divide 50000 by 20 which is 2500. This is how many block of 20 cm placed end to end will cover half a kilometer.

I need to get 300dpi with a sony 8.1 megapixel camera. Is it possible?

Yes, but only up to a certain size. DPI means dots per inch. A dot is a pixel. Find the number of pixels in the image dimensions on the computer. Divide each number by 300. That will tell you the maximum size you can print the picture for 300 DPI. For example, if the picture is 2500 X 3250 pixels, that would be 8.3 X 10.83 inches.

I must not understand what a margin is so could someone explain, the instructions give this example: If I purchase something for $2000 and want to make a 20% profit I would need to sell it for $2500 (2000...

Hi,
I think you should refer to you definitions. The 20% is called the markup. The profit margin is calculated with respect to the revenue. So you should divide the 400$ by 2400$ to get a net profit margin of 400/2400 =0.1667 or 16.67% (And we are not taking into account the taxes).

Margin = Markup /(price + Markup)
Markup = Margin* (Price +Markup)
Markup = Margin*Markup + Margin* Price
Markup*(1-Margin) =Margin*Price
Markup = Margin*Price/( 1-Margin)
For Price =2000, Margin =0.2 (that is 20%)
Markup = 0.2*2000(1-0.8) =0.2*2000/0.8
Markup = 2000*(0.2/0.8)= 2000*0.25 = 500

Thus to have a (net) profit margin of 20%, an item costing 2000$ must be marked up by 500$.

Try not to reason with numbers. Write the defining relation and use algebra to isolate for the variable you seek.

Hope it helps.

How can we caculate the energy needed by an air conditioner?

It depends on the (EER) Energy Efficiency Ratio,which is capacity divided by watts.
Example 35000 btus / 2500 watts = 14 EER
If you know the capacity,btus and EER you can calculate the watts, capacity / EER
Example 35000 btus / 14 EER = 2500 watts.

EER is determine by testing the air conditioner at Department of Energy Guidelines, which are
80° drybulb 67° wetbulb indoor and 95° and 82° drybulb outdoor.
