When an issue such as this occurs, or you have found that your device is freezing, you can reset the device by removing the battery while the device is on, wait 1 minute and then reinstall the battery and power the device back up. Doing this will force the device to re-register with the network. If this does not correct the issue then you are looking at a more serious issue, and may need to have the device repaired, or replaced. If the device is under a year old, then you may be covered under the manufacturer's warranty, and you would need to contact your wireless provider to initiate that exchange.
