Hi, this is a fairly common problem, you see what maybe happening is the the Router and Phone are interfering with each other either directly or through harmonics, either way the phone's signal is degenerated and the received volume is compromised. One can try relocation and see if that helps?
Now it could be this, OR, the reduced volume may just be co-incidental, as also often these phones, earphones fault, and give a much reduced volume.. moisture and dropping, are the main causes. This earphone is easily replaceable and the cost is usually negligible, (I replace them often in similar phones for all sorts of reasons)
So the ONLY real, reliable way to to tell if it is interference, or a faulty earphone, is to take the phone to another location and see if the problem "Follows" the phone, if SO, the the earphone is faulty, (Or the driver circuit) and will need to be looked at by a professional. Contact a local or head office of Uniden, and ask for a referral to a authorised service center. IF worried about costings, then FIRST ask for a "Quote" ONLY, as to the the cost, and exact nature, of the repairs.
If there is a change, and the signal is louder then you may have an interference problem, relocation of and maybe changing frequency, of the router transmitter, may help or even eliminate it.
I have had clients that have been unable to combat interference problems and had to resort to obtaining a replacement phone unit that didn't suffer from the interference. (Trail & error, the nice people at the appliance stores let them take home various models on "Try & return" basis.)

How do I turn the ringer "on" on a Undien Decti560?

While you have the phone handset on the base, try pushing the top or bottom part of the big round button in the top / middle part of the handset's keypad to turn the ringer volume up or down respectively.

Here is a link to all the Uniden cordless phone user manuals:

http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl

And here is a link to a user's manual for a similar model of that phone (DECT 2180-3):

http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DECT2180-3om.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, the follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 5 and 10 of the manual for detailed instructions on how to increase the volume of the ringer and speaker.

Basically it operates as follows:

Your handset has a four-way function key.
Press the top of the key to increase the ringer volume (while the phone is in standby) or speaker volume (while you are on a call).
Press the bottom of the key to decrease the ringer volume (while the phone is in standby) or speaker volume (while you are on a call).

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

Uniden wall-mounted cordless phone unusable since DSL installed

This happened because there are too many phones sharing the same line with no power amplifiers.
Your phone line is self powered by a small current generated by the phone company (that's why old, wired phones don't need a separate power connection to ring or make calls, it's enough to just plug them in). Each phone you connect to the same line acts as a resistor and drains some of this current. Eventually not enough power is left to carry the signal.
The phone company technician can fix this by installing power amplifiers.
In any case, I would test this theory by unhooking all other phones and checking the cordless ones on their own.
If they work fine, call back the phone company and ask for a "real" repair person..

Cordless phone has volume problems with DSL

For starters that dsl modem should not be filtered.
You should place the splitter directly into the wall jack and place the filter on the side used for the phone. The side feeding the dsl line should not be filtered.
The filter serves 2 purposes. 1 it reduces data noise interference onto the voice line. 2 it prevents dsl interference from voice such as picking up and hanging up the receiver.

Where is the button to turn on the ringer volume?

On most Uniden phones pressing the volume button (usually on the side of the phone) while the instrument is not in use will increase/decrease the ringer volume.
