Question about Samsung SCX4824FN Mono All-in-One Laser Printer

When photocopying on the top glass screen the copies come out offset 20 mm to the left - cutting off some printing and leaving horizontal black lines down the left hand edge. Would re-installing the soft ware solve this? The prints from the computer are good.

Hello,

Since it wasn't behaving like this previously, re-installing the software will solve the problem.

First, disconnect the printer from your computer. Uninstall the printer software from your control pane. After that restart the computer. Don't install the software or connect the printer yet.

Go to control panel, go to printer. You should find your printer's name/model there. Right click on the name and select delete. If you don't find the printer name, no problem. But make sure you delete all printer name that you see under Printers in control panel.

After that, restart the computer again, then you can now install the printer software afresh.

Install the software first, and after that plug in the printer. The software should direct you on the right time to plug the printer into the computer.

Bizhub C652 has horizontal lines.


its important to find out whether the \'lines\' are in scan direction/ or only through Radf or only from scan glass,

if the lines are only showing when documents are fed throught the Radf, then the problem lies with the document scan plate( left of the main glass platen (about 2" in width)) or with the scan plate blade cleaner

if the lines ONLY appear when copying from the Glass then the issue lies within the optics (probably nothing more than a clean will be needed)

another question would be to ask if the lines are solid (black line overprinting image) or if they are \'missing\' lines where the image has failed to copy, sometimes it can be hard to work out which side the fault lies,so try shaded greys as a copy original .

if the scan lines are appearing on both Radf and Glassplatten ,mode then the issue may be dirty optics/ccd sensor or it could e an indication of the ccd failing or image control pwb in error while interpreting the image file.

what to do

1) place a grey sheet of paper in the Radf and have the copier photocopy both sides of the original and print to single sided sheets ( so the printer turns the original over to complete the task)

observe the result.

2) have the copier photocopy directly from the platten glass- single sided.

observe the result.

ckeck to see if the error has appeared on both sets of prints ,

if the error has only appeared in the first set of prints then the issue may be a tiny DOT on the slit glass (left of platten) - a dot on this glass will indeed appear as a Line as the original is scanned across the glass.

Horizontal lines on photocopies made but no lines appear when document document is printed.


Hi there, As it sounds its a dirty scanning glass. Open the top of the scanner so that you can see the scanning glass.. If your standing in front of it you will see on the left hand side a strip of thinner glass.. Take a damp cloth (better cloth with spirits/surgical alcohol) and clean the both the small and the large scanning glass. These lines normally cause if the glass is dirty. Especially if your using the document Feeder. As a lot of time wet ink or typex or correction fluid gets stuck on glass which will cause these lines.

When making a copy, be it A4R or A4 Lines cross horizotally from left to rigth

Maybe it is time for you to clean the scanner glass and or the ADF platen glass.

Remember a small dirt, usually a dried ink in the scanner glass or platen glass will leave a horizontal black lines in your copied paper.






I hope the problem you have Lucamoses is just as simple as cleaning the glass to solve it.

When i use the sheet feed on my hp laser jet 2840 to photocopy the printed page has a black line down it what can i do to get rid of this?


Clean the adf scanner glass. This is the thinner strip of glass that is just to the left of the large original glass. Just lift up the top feeder and look to the left side of the glass. Clean this strip of glass with a soft cloth and some glass cleaner. Sometimes whatever is stuck to the glass is hard to get off so keep at it till it goes away. Another tip is if the line is in the middle of the copy then the "spot" to clean is going to be in the center of this strip from front to back. If the line is to the left side of your copy then the spot is going to be towards the front side.

The screen says the Paten glass needs to be cleaned. What is the paten glass? Also when copies are made a black line is showing up on the edge of the copy.


Hi,
platen glass means that you need to clean the copy glass - glass where you put the originals for copying.
If you have an auto document cleaner there is also small glass on left side of "platen glass" wich is seen when you open the copy machine cover or dadf.

The black line is probably from dirt on copy glass, I pressume because courectour liquid ( most common ). use some stronger detergent or wd-40 to disolve the dirt and clean with glass detergent and dry it.

If you still have the black line try to print something from machine.If you do not have it on print its the copy glass problem - clean it - again.

Horizontal streak


Clean the scanner strip glass. This is the small strip of glass that is just to the left of the large main glass. This is the only cause for black line (s) when copying using the ADF(top feed). If prints or copies fine from the glass then it is this strip glass needing to be cleaned.

Printer does not print good copy after doing several head cleaning operations and having enough ink in cartridges.


If the print has horizontal lines of 'missing print' do three head cleqans don't move the printer or switch it off, now leave it overnight - letting the head soak in fresh ink- in the morning, do one more head clean and then print the nozzle check.If it's poor photocopying it is most probably because the print quality for photocopy is set to a low setting. The manual will explain how to change photocopy print quality. Hope this helps

2" black horizontal line appears on paper when I fax, print,


Check the wondow where the paper passes to be scanned. You will probably find some debris or white out stuck on the glass. That is usually the cause of vertical lines on sent faxes.

Black Line printing on copies


Just clean the glass top of the scanner and the slit of glass on the left hand side of the scanner.
