Question about Intel DG35EC Motherboard

Open Question

I have DG 35EC MOBO with Intel Q8200 quad core processor, Windows 7 Home Premium 32Bit. System had 2x 2GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM modules. Everything was fine; recently I decided to go for 64Bit OS, thus, I added another 4 GB of RAM (2xGB) as the motherboard is capable to support 8GB of DDR2 RAM. But, after increasing RAM spec system often encounters BSOD. I know, that with 32 Bit OS, only 3.24GB will be utilized but, never thought that my system will encounter frequent BSOD. with latest BIOS ver (.118) I was not able to run repair or re-install Win7 Home Premium 32 Bit. Then, I rolled back the BIOS ver. 113 (older BIOS ver.) after this I was able to re-install the OS. After this, frequency of BSOD has gone down but it still comes back, it really drives me NUTS. Let me tell you about the symptom, when I am playing any video/audio file either on VLC or Win media player, all of a sudden screen turns black, on system tray a message pops up "DISPLAY DRIVER INTEL VISTA DRIVER HAS STOPPED AND RECOVERED" it appears 3/4 times and then BSOD with message "ATTEMPT TO RESET THE DISPLAY DRIVER AND RECOVER FROM TIME OUT FAILED" All RAM modules are same ADATA 2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz (latency 5.5.5). Please, throw some light on the matter as I badly need experts' help.

to get the 32 bit graphic on 82845gv motherboard go to BIOS setting and change your video frame buffer size to 8 mb and agp aeperture to 256 mb and let the system boot... you will get 32 bit graphic with 1024 x 748 screen resolution... i have changed and believe me it is working

Telikin bios

They run on Linux. There is a BIOS, but I don't know if it's locked out though.
The Telikin Freedom looks like a full laptop
  • Intel Quad Core 1.83GHz Processor
  • 4GB SDRAM
  • 500GB hard drive
It should run any modern windows.

The other ones listed are very low specs.
Telikin Breeze
  • Intel dual core 1.8GHz processor
  • 2GB SDRAM
  • 16GB solid state drive
Telikin Silver
  • Intel J1900 Celeron Quad Core processor, 2.4GHz
  • 2GB DDR3 Memory
  • 32GB Solid State drive
Unless you can find a way to upgrade the SSD,
Windows 7 fills up 30GB by itself, 8/8.1/10 are also out of the question. None of these work well with only 2GB memory either.
You might be able to run Windows XP on the 32GB Silver.

What is the maximum ram supported by a Intel pentium dual core E5200 2.5ghz processor ? I have a mobo with 8 Gb ram support max...

It depends on your operating system. If you have a 64bit OS then you'll use the 8GB. If you're using a 32bit OS you'll use about 3.65GB.

My pc is to slow how can i make faster

  • Remove unused programs
  • Install and run antispyware software
  • Free up wasted space with Disk Cleanup tool
  • Defragment your hard disk drive
  • Disconnect unused network connections:

Click Start, and then click My Computer.
On the Tools menu, click Disconnect Network Drive.
Select the network drives that you no longer need, and then click OK.
ALSO

Click Start - Run, type in %temp% and then click OK.
Once that temp folder is open and you can view its contents, select and delete EVERYTHING that's inside it.It's all junk and is a good place for "nasties" to hide.
If a few files resist being deleted, that's normal. Leave them alone and delete EVERYTHING else.
Repeat the steps with c:\windows\temp
After you're done with both temp folders, restart the computer.
For an instant fix use PCFresher to make PC faster.

Fiteed new quad core CPU and 4gb of Ram, when started up getting no signal detected on the monitor. Can anyone help?

Let's back up a second.

A) What HP model is it? (P/N. Product Number. Back of desktop computer tower)
B) What model number of Intel quad core is it?
C) What are the manufacturer ID number/letters on the ram memory module/s?

I need to know what Northbridge chip is used on the motherboard, to know if it will support the particular Intel quad core you're trying to use.
This I can hopefully obtain from HP Support, by looking at the specifications for the motherboard.

(This technology does not apply to motherboards that support the Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processors)

The Northbridge chip is part of the motherboard chipset.
So aptly named, because on a desktop computer motherboard it sits to the 'North', for one.
(Under the Processor)

[ Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Circuit

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of the computer.
It handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and High-speed graphics.

AGP and PCI-Express are high-speed graphics technology.
A graphics card plugged into a PCI slot, and Integrated Graphics, is Not high-speed graphics.

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of the computer.

Motherboard Diagram;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

List of Intel Chipsets, and more specifically the one's that can handle Intel quad core processors,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Core_2_chipsets

Secondly;
Make sure the Ram Memory you installed is Compatible.
If the motherboard supports 4GB of ram, make sure it is in the correct ram slots if using two sticks of ram, or four sticks.

There HAS to be a ram memory module ('Stick') in Slot 1. (DIMM 1)
EACH ram memory slot has a Maximum Amount.

For example if there are 4 ram slots, and the Maximum Total Amount of ram memory is 4GB, each ram slot may have a maximum of 1GB.
It may, or may not be that you can use Slot 1 and Slot 2, and use two 2GB sticks.

Third:
Always go slow when upgrading.
Install the Processor first, boot the computer up, see how it works.

THEN shut the computer down, unplug from power, observe Anti-Static Precautions, and install 2GB of ram memory.

Works?
Install the other 2GB.
BIOS has to recognize the changes.

Fourth:
Are you sure your Power Supply is adequate to support the quad core, and the added ram memory?

Post back in a Comment.

joecoolvette

No beep,No Display on my monitor, only CPU heatsink fan is moving

You motherboard has onboard video. It's possible it needs to be disabled and the option changed to use the pci or pci-express slot for the Ati card you installed. Since you have no post error beeps this is the best place to start. Also I had built a system not to long ago and had a similar problem. Resetting the cmos on the motherboard (usually a pin combo) solved the issue.

Start by hooking up your vga cable to the onboard video.

Hope this helps.
