Look closely at the stereo, you will find numbers 0 - 9, select the the appropriate numbersm corresponding to your stereo code. if it does not work, then the code might be incorrect. get the genuine code from the dealership were the car was bought.

Why wont my kenwood stereo work after my truck battery died n had to be jumped

It is locked out due to loss of battery power, this is a Theft deterrent feature. You were given a code and instructions with the original paperwork for the unit.

Where is the reset button located in a 2003 Honda Odyssey for the anti theft?

If the remote was programmed before loss of power, push and hold the unlock button until the alarm stops. If not try locking and unlocking the drivers side door with the the key. This has reset the alarm on my 2001 Odyssey.

You will also need the unlock code to reactivate your stereo after long term power loss. It is on a card with the manual given to the owner of new vehicles. A smart dealer will put it on a sticker in the glove box. Otherwise you have to remove the radio and give a Honda dealer the radio serial number to get the unlock code. Don't try it randomly; 10 incorrect tries locks the stereo.

Bought a used car and a separate used car stereo. Since the brand of stereo is the same as my car I thought I could put it right in. Now I need a Hinda radio unlock code and I don't have the money to buy...

There isn't much you can do.In order to unlock the stereo I am pretty sure you need the VIN number of the car it came out of.If it was at a salvage yard, there is hope.I have no idea who started that lock system or why, most likely theft deterrent, but will it really stop theft? It is one of the stupidest 'technologies' in current cars.Every time the battery is disconnected you have to unlock it too. They may get $5-$10 less for the car.woowoo.Anyhow,good luck! Car stereo locked in saab 9000

If your battery goes flat or you disconnected the car battery, your car stereo anti-theft security system will be activated: you need to consult your car/radio user manual to remove this lock and will need the correct security code.
Hope it helps: please let me know how you go!

you need to get the theft code fron a g.m. dealer; the theft lock was not de-activated before it was removed from the original vehicle.if you know the original owner the code should be in their owners manual

I have a 1992 bmw 325i.The stereo is not working.

you need the anti-theft code for the radio....the radio should safe theft lock or something similiar to deter theft.....unfortunately you will need to pull the radio to get the serial number off the radio and than beg and plead with the dealer to give you the code without paying for it......you may want to check the owners manual for the radio code......some past owners sometimes will write the code in the book......

My 2004 cavalier stereo is locked.i put a

That's the anti theft lock... It's not a system that comes with every car radio, but i've saw a few of those on cavaliers and sunfires, and a few civics, and i think a couple others have some too, but i've only personnally seen and worked with the ones i mentioned. In any case, unfortunetly even if i know how they work, there is no easy way to get them unlocked and working again. You need the special code for that specific radio, and to get it you don't have the choice to go to you GM dealer and ask them to do it. You need their special machines to get the codes and get the radio unlocked, there is no other way other than changing it for an aftermarket radio again like before. So if you really want to get the OEM radio going again, go with the car to your GM dealer to prove to them it's not stolen and they will get the codes from the GM support center with their dealer code and will unlock your radio, but of course they will charge for it, dealers never give any gifts to anyone.:p So ask them how much they charge for the service, cause in some cases, buying an aftermarket radio will cost less.

Car stereo locked after batterie change

Contact a subaru dealer for assistance and if they need s/n off the stereo, then remove it yourself and save the diagnostics fee. If they want to charge for the code, search the web for free anti-theft code information or use radio-code.com
