Question about Russell Hobbs Irons

My Russell and Hobbs Professional iron is only a few months old but has suddenly stopped heating up although the power indicator light still comes on. Unfortunatley I have lost the receipt but don't really want to give up on it without trying to fix it. Thanking you in anticipATION Marcia Moorhouse

It is important to check the continuity of the coil as the power indicator is a neon and will show up as the power comes to the circuit. So what is required is to check if the coil or the thermostat control is defective and so does not heat.
If you can contact the Russell hobbs web site - support and post the part code of the set it will be traced to be under warranty and it is possible that you can get support for help...just in case the coil has opened.

If the water used is hard it will build up with shale, and block the steam vents, best to flush with clean water after every second use . Best to take to the dealer and have it serviced .

Lights come on when plugged in, doesn't heat up and has a beeping sound , colour panel is red thankyou

In most cases, steam irons tend to clog with hard water deposits and need to be de-scaled from time to time. If that doesn't help you, buy a new iron. Rowenta's seem to perform best.

I have so far seen 3 other people with the problem i have with my russell hobbs steam glide iron 13153. I have tried what was suggested to me but nothing has worked. the iron gets hot but no steam coming...


I would write to russell hobbs and complain, my friend bought one of these 18 months ago and hers got hot but no steam through. She sent it back to them and they sent her a new one as a gesture of goodwill.

I have a Russell Hobbs Steam Generator iron - less than two years old. It has started to leak water - not really sure where it's coming from - it just pours out and eventually fuses the plug.


My Russel Hobbs Steamglide iron has stopped pumping steam , iron itself heats up but no steam...has the pump gone and can it be reapired
