Re: problem regarding the write protection of pendrive
Go onto this website and download the formatting software: http://www.apacer.com/en/products/Handy_Steno_HA202_downloads.htm
I had the same problem with an old 64MB jump drive. I did some hunting around on HWA as well as Googling other forums. The general agreement seemed to be that the drive was simply dead. I tried changing all the permissions, attrib in CMD, and even logging into Linux as "root" (the equivilent of Microsoft's "Administrator") to no avail. I was able to back the files up to another drive, and they regained their permission settings, but from what I read, the drive was simply dead.

I have a kingston DT10 pendrive. When you plug in the pendrive to any computer, it say the pendrive needs to format. When you click format, then it say that windows cannot format the disk. I've try large number of software such as HD Guru Low level format but it's also useless. The problems start when a virus attacking my pendrive then suddenly hidding all my files. It's not a big deal to me to open it using up level button on the winrar system. But, the problem starts when im deleting a strange folder named 3hkgj..... something like that.
Your pendrive is infected with Autorun.inf virus to remove this virus install malwarebytes (It is antimalware software)and scan your whole computer as well as your pendrive when you scaning finish remove all threats
IF the above method is not work
Try to format in other operating system like windows vista or in windows 7 because in vista and 7 you can force format your pendrive
first insert your pendrive. Now right click on my computer.Go to manage option . select disk management. From that you must select your drive letter for your pen drive.Go to Action menu near to File menu.Fromthat select all tasks and select formatting. Then again goto all tasks and select change drive letter and paths.select the drive letter and your problem is solved. thanks for asking your problem.
First try to see is there any lock in your usb pen drive and see if its not locking the pen drive, because some pen drives comes with that option to protect usb .it looks like slide switch .for one end it will lock the media and when you switch to other side you have the full access but if that's not the reason it might be the problem with registry
Hey, the transcend pen drives usually have a small switch on the side of it, ie to turn the write protect on and off, usually a small lock symbol on it, the problem with unreadable files names etc, could be a corrupt partition, i would suggest formatting the drive as long as you aint got any important information on it,
