Question about Acer Extensa 4620 Notebook
If you cant hear sound, go to Control Panel and make sure your audio device is installed correctly.
If audio device has yellow mark, or some error, reinstall your audio device drivers. If you don't have Laptop CD, you can download your audio driver from here: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/extensa_4620/driver/Audio_Realtek_v220.127.116.1123_XP.zip
If your audio device has no problem in Control Panel, make sure your sound is at maximal level. Hope this helps.

Are you forget to install sound driver during installing operating
system on your laptop? So first check that drivers are properly install
or not. If it is not install, install it. If already installed, try to
Still you are not getting any sound on your system so it also possible that the sound card is possibly dead. If the computer uses on-board sound (meaning there is no separate card with sound jacks on it), that is more problematic. That part on the board cannot be replaced without replacing the whole motherboard, normally. In either case, install a new sound card and use its jacks for audio.
Feel free to get technical assistance for system at http://www.vtechsquad.com/pc-support/ if the same problem is still occurring.

First right click my computer clickproperties then click hardware then device manager and in the click sound vedio and came controller and see wether the driver is installed properly if you see question mark in the driver or the driver not installed properly reload your sound driver which came with the motherboard if the drivers are installed properly then click start settings control pannel then click sound and audio device then click volume and move the slider to high then untick the mute button if ticked then restart the computer

its so easy to write but tell you what its damn hard to do.
you need a very powefull desolder that can reach 350 degrees or else a 150W one.
the trick is to put more solder underneath each hole and so the new solder mixes with the old one and then it will melt.
you need a sucking pipe to **** solder out "without this u cant"
once the old jack is removed its so easy to put the new one and I am not even gona bother tell you how because i am sure you're smart to figure that out yourself, because if u get the old out you can put the new one in.
b very patient, take breaks, dont apply too much heat so the bits near the dc jack wont come off because of the heat.
check that solder isnt shorting with anything else.

The switch simply turns the radio on and off, if it can stay in the on position just leave it in the on position. It should stay enabled if the radio is "on". There really is no reason to keep rurning the radio on and off. If you need to disable it, then just go to the device manager and disable it there. The switch is a pain to replace, first you have to find the right one, then the soldering of the switch is another battlle all to itself.
