Possible that the driver software is corrrupt and is not recognised. So remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer which will be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken .

Plugged ink line

Hello, my name is Steve. And i have some disappointing news.

If you ever plan on having an "Ink-printer" than a Toner-type printer, there are things you must understand ....

The "wet-type" ink printer is the "poor man's" color printer.
It was designed by the manufacturers to profit off the cost of ink sales .

these little printers do not have any repair parts....other than a Print head ,paper trays or a power cord.

The Ink itself has polymers, dye, and other ingredients that keep it "smudge-proof, water-proof and fade-proof"

Once the ink leaves the cartridge,it passes through a small tube or nozzle. The nozzle on print heads are finer than a hair on a person's head.

It takes lots of pressure to pass the ink from the cartridge to the print head. That is why when you start a print, the printer will warm-up or calibrate the print head to ready it for a print job.

With this type of wet-ink printing, constant printing (at least a few pages of a printed "Demo" should be printed per week) will keep the nozzles , Ink Supply System (ISS) and other related components to function effortlessly. This is NOT what the manufacturers will tell you. If you what to retain this investment,

This way, with these thought in-mind, will lower the problem of clogged or no-print

Office jet 8500 wireless all in one inkjet printer

Most ink jet printers will not print if any cartridge is empty even if you are only printing black. The printer goes through the initialization but never goes on line. The only way to get the unit to print will be to install a full cartridge so the printer will pass the config tests. There is no way to bypass this function, sorry

I have a M2727NF printer and it tells me to order cartridge, which I did buy a new one. My question...Can I still keep making copies with the old cartridge until it runs out of toner or does this hurt the...

keep working until it stops and then place the new one.
some printers will not know how much toner is left after the warning, so at one moment it can just start printing light in vertical lines, this means the toner is near empty (but you can shake the cartridge slight, to get some more pages, if you dont have new cart. at hand).
so keep printing and dont worry

Trying to print to a dell photo aio printer 964 from my laptop and it keeps telling me "communication not available; the printer cannot communicate with the computer; please turn on enable...

Bidirectional Printing - A means of printing by a computer printer which prints one line from left to right, then the following line from right to left. Such printing is faster than printing in one direction only, as there is no need to wait for the carriage or other imaging mechanism to return to the left margin before starting a line.
how to enable bi-directional printing.here's how:
  1. -click on start
  2. -click on printers and faxes (control panel->printers and faxes)
  3. -right-click on Dell Photo All in One Printer 964 All-In-One icon
  4. - click on properties
  5. -click on ports tab
  6. -down at the bottom there's a small box before bi-directional support
  7. -tick the box to enable it then click apply,ok
  8. -try printing again

note: in vista , printers and faxes is printers.in win 7 ,it's devices and printers.
and properties in win 7 is printer properties

6122 deskjet prints test page fine but only prints one line on the paper for all other print jobs.. what is wrong?

Is it almost a solid line? This may be an application problem. Are you printing text?

I have seen this in two flavors:

1) If there are switch settings for this printer you want to make sure that the printer is set for CR/LF ( Carrier Return/Line Feed). This tells the printer to Return the printhead to the start of the line and the LF command tells the printer to step up the page.

2) If you are connected serially, the parity bit may be set incorrectly. Depending on the parity, the bit could printer if set for even parity but the sending PC is set to EVEN parity can cause a LF command to get ignored and the symptom is the lines print on top of the first line.

Hp laserjet 4 plus - keep getting a horizontal black line

yes you have to catch printer making the line and then as a page is being printed you need to open door to stop paper after green cylinder(drum) as it is entering fuser, then you need to remove paper from printer without pulling through the fuser, if you see the line then rub your finger across line up and down page, if it smears at all then its the cartridge if not then the fuser

Canon i850-alignment

Moski, When trying to align the printer you get a sheet of numbered lines. You want to choose the center most selection that your eyes see as straight lines. Whether they are horizontal or vertical it wants you to tell it which lines look the straightest. From there it will set itself up for proper printing. Tim
