Question about Nokia E71 Smartphone

1 Answer

I have Nokia E71 for the last two years without any problem. Today morning the call receive button was not working. Later I restored factory settings then some more button stopped working. Now none of the button works. If I press any; the cell switches off. I need to save my contacts and data. The key pad was changed at Nokia center but still the same. The Nokia person says I've no chance to recover my data; please advise!!

Hello,

Does the phone still power on? If it still power's on and boots, then you can install Ovi suite or Nokia PC suite on your computer, get a USB/Data cable, connect it from the PC to the Phone and it should be able to sync your contacts and data to the PC.

But if the phone does not power on, then it means you cannot recover your data and contact.

Good luck.

I install mobile tracker in my mobile nokia e71 but aftersome days iforget it's password

Uninstall it if you can.
If that doesn't work, take it to the nearest Nokia Store.
As a last resort, you could try restoring factory settings on your phone.

Nokia reset key

Nokia Factory Reset
It is possible to reset your Nokia to factory settings (Note that you will lose all your data). For this look in the manual of your phone. Soft Reset Soft Reset will clear pending errors and bring your mobile to an initial state by restoring Factory setting. To operate this function on your mobile, the shortcut is: *#7380#

This function apparently works on almost all nokia mobile phones. Hard Reset It may happen that despite you have restored your mobile to factory setting, the error still exist. In this case, it is recommended that you opt for Hard reset Enter the code: *#7370# and press Yes to confirm initialization. Important Notice: It is recommended that you save all important information on your phone (e.g: memo, contacts etc) To make a Hard Reset on a Nokia phone that is not willing to turn on, just press simultaneously these 3 buttons: on/off + * + 3 Before making a Hard reset better backup all your important information: contacts, memo...etc

How to reset nokia e71

Warning

Please back up all the data on your Nokia E71 and the memory card before resetting the phone (if you do not know how to back up your personal data on the Nokia E71 give me a shout). There are lots of caseswhere users have reset their phone and realized later that they have lost all their personal data.
How to do a hard reset of Nokia E71

  • Switch on the phone
  • While the phone is the standby mode enter this code *#7370#
  • The phone would ask for a password, the default password is 12345 unless you have changed it before.
  • That is it you are done

But I do not want to loose my personal data

You might want to restore the factory settings of the Nokia E71 but you might not want to loose the personal data on the phone. This can be done by doing a 'soft reset'.

Warning
Do not do a soft reset without backing up data on your phone and the memory card as backing your phone data is a good practice even if you are doing a 'soft reset'

To do a 'soft reset'

  • Switch on the phone
  • When the phone on the standby mode enter the code *#7780#
  • The factory settings would be restored and there will be no data loss.
  • Voila

Alternative method for hard reset of Nokia E71

There is alternate method to do a hard reset is prescribed as well. The steps involve

  • Switching off your phone
  • Press the *, 3 and the green key on the phone while starting the phone (do not ask me how, because when I tried I could not do it! and if you are successful then you should apply for a prize from Nokia)
  • The phone will ask for a password which by default is 12345 if you have not changed it in the past.

I would like to remind readers again to backup their personal data from the phone and the memory card before trying to do a reset of their Nokia E71.

Is there an option in nokia pc suit to restore ur phone to factory settings ?

Hi ,friends,
You can restore the software and the hardware
Due to the amount of data it handles, a slow down in your phone may arise or a conflict in applications may occur, or worse, a total malfunction in your Nokia E71 may happen. A hard reset should be done only as a last resort as it will wipe out most data and new applications you have installed.
