Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Bosch Dishwasher Model SMS68M02AU I keep getting E14 error code. After approx 2 minutes the machine shuts down. The water flow is not restricted, I can hear it running into the machine OK. I suspect that there is a water level sensor that is not working but I do not have a service manual to be able to locate it. The machine is still under warranty so I am keeping the fiddle factor down, in spite of being an electrical engineer. How can I get the machine into diagnostic mode? Any and all help is very much appreciated.

    Hi Caroldon,
    Thanks for you reply.
    I have found the problem!!!
On the left hand side of the machine where the water tank is located, there is a small PCB with a reed switch which is used to monitor the inflow of water.
The connector to this PCB is actually quite crappy in that it pushes onto the end of the PCB which only has a tinned finish. It appears that the connection had become open, probably due to a bit of moisture and then the usual dissimilar metals....
Anyhow, removing and replacing the connector a few times cleaned up the connection to the PCB and the reed switch now tells the controller that water is indeed flowing. Problem solved.

Same model, same problem, same fix - sloppy design. But thanks for the tip!

Just a tip: Look for a tubing that runs along the drum which collect water to be pushed into a pressure switch. you can test this with a vaccum check as taking the air out as the switch will contact.

I have a bosch lifestyle dishwasher that keeps coming up e17...we have had plumbers around and there is no problem with pipes or water so what else can it be

You did not specify the model so I can only assume what means the alarm code E17 - probably water level too high - flow sensor.
The dishwasher has, for some reason detected an overfill and is reporting that through this error code. The flow sensor note is there as that can cause this fault code to be displayed.

What does E-14 in Bosch Washing Machine mean?

E14 stands for an error code concerning the flow meter. This is a sensor which mesures if enough water comes into the machine. There are several causes. Did you open the faucet enough or is there some dirt in the sieve between the aquastop and the faucet?

How to fix a bosh dishwasher with E 01 code

The E01 error may mean that the water flow into the washer is restricted or that the flow meter is not reading correctly. Sometimes the control board near the washer inlet is faulty and can't read the signal from the flow meter or send that message to the control panel.

First check your shut-off for the dishwasher and make sure that it is open. Next turn the valve off and disconnect the inlet hose. Connect a new hose to the valve and position a bucket under the hose. Open the valve and check the water flow. If you have good water flow, try connecting this new hose to the inlet of the dishwasher. (Unplug the dishwasher. For an under-cabinet dishwasher, you'll need to pull the washer out. Make sure to keep the discharge hose from pulling loose. Then disconnect the old hose from the fitting and connect the new hose instead. Then slide the washer carefully back into place without pinching the hoses or cables.)

If you add a comment with the model number, I may be able to give more specific directions and replacement part information. Of course, if the dishwasher is under warranty, contact Bosch.

I hope this helps.

Error code E:14 Siemens Dishwasher - stops after 1 min of cycle

It might be helpful if you provide the full model number of the Siemens dishwasher. Most likely E14 error has something to do with water flow sensing. Check if your mains water pressure is ok (tap under sink is fully open). But can provide more details only if you can tell me the model number.

Bosch dishwasher working for 2 minutes and saying check water and coming up e14

Possible that the inlet flow of water is low and so there is time taken to fill up . So check the pressure at the inlet. Also if the water level pressure sensor is faulty then the program will be halted as the water level is not indicated.
Please check the sensor.
