Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You will have to look at the manufacturer's plate, probably on the back of the machine to find the appropriate date then-
Date code 39, March 2005
Press start/cancel until ALL LEDS are lit
Press both start/cancel AND on/off together until 'dOFF' is displayed

Date code 39, March 2005 to date code 42, June 2005
Press the cancel button and the machine should return to normal

Date code 43, July 2005 onwards
Press both start/cancel AND on/off TOGETHER with top left option button until 'dOFF' is displayed.
Good luck,
John C

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Someone accidentally put it into TEST mode and to get it out of the test mode follow this:-- Unplug the washer for 4 minutes and then plug it back and press start, the display should go daft. Press start again and the display should settle down. Now press the on/off button and the start button at the same time and hold them down for a few seconds until the display shows d-end or d-off. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My samsung blue flip cell phone, everytime I press 369 or#....

If you notice the 3,6,9, and # are all on the same column. There is probably some corrosion under the keypad from a spill or moisture. If cleaning the membrane switches won't work try replacing the keypad (the electronic portion, not the rubber). Repost if you need instructions. I can put some parts up on ebay for you too.

Washing machine

Pressing and holding the two centre buttons ie on/off and start/cancel together for a few seconds causes the machine to run in 'test' mode. Doing the same again puts it back to normal wash.
I nearly called an engineer once because my daughter causes it all of the time!

Hotpoint wf860

the applionce is in demmo mode and running a test cycle so you need to cancle the cycle first by holding the start reset button until all the screen iluminates(88:88) now you need to disable the demo mode by holding the start cancle and the on off buttons together until you see D OFF in some cases you may need to hold the button to the top left of the screen and the start and on off buttons but this will sort it
