I've reinstalled it many times. It usually says"Corrupt installation - install from original CD"
    Windows 7 (64 bit)

  • tmccar Apr 01, 2011

I have tried running it in compatibility mode.
Can you please explain what you mean by "completely"?

  • tmccar Apr 01, 2011

    Yes I have

  • tmccar Apr 01, 2011

I have done this many times

  • tmccar Apr 01, 2011

I did not reject your answer, but none of the answers help with this problem

  • tmccar Apr 02, 2011

It's got absolutely nothing to do with the CD

  • tmccar Apr 02, 2011

It's got nothing to do with the CD at all.

  • tmccar Apr 02, 2011

    It works on Windows Vista
    It works on Windows XP

  • tmccar Apr 02, 2011

As I said, the problem is NOT with the CD.

I can copy the CD contents onto a USB drive - it will not work.
I can download a demo version of the game from the website - it will not work.

  • tmccar Apr 04, 2011

It's got nothing to do with the disk

I have installed it on XP - it works
I have installed it on Vista - it works

Welcome to Fixya

Looks like you have a corrupted installation disk. To test this issue further, try to install this program to a different computer and see if you are gettign the same problem. If same problem occurs then the problem is the disk itself.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Hello,

where did you buy the CD? If it is a new CD, go and return it and replace it with another. But if it is a old one, then I think you need to buy another one because the CD is corrupt as you can see.

Some CD's has virus on them and it takes a good windows like yours to detect the corruption on the CD. When CD's are duplicated illegally, then tend to carry virus. This as been programmed by the original inventor of the software.

There is nothing you can do to make the CD install on your windows 7 computer. You need to get another CD.

The CD might install on windows xp or vista, this is because of it's security level. Win 7 has a very high security level and doesn't just install any kind of CD.

I hope the above makes sense to you. If there is something you need to clarify or that you want to know further please let me know and I would be glad to assist you.

Good luck.

Yes, that's true, but have you tried the CD on another computer using a different OS like win xp or vista. This will reveal if actually the CD is corrupt or not. If the CD is corrupt then there is nothing you or any one else can do. It's a fact.....

Have you tried it on another windows?

  • Walesarumi
    Walesarumi Apr 02, 2011

Okay, in that case, it is incompatible with win 7. Win 7 selects software. Then there is nothing you can do to make the CD work on win 7.........

Hi!

Have you tried following the advice, i.e reinstalling the simulator?? If so, do you get any error messages?
What operating system are you using?

I guess it has something to do with the fact that you're running a 64-bit system... Have you tried install and/or running it in a compatibility mode??

  • Ran Kedar
    Ran Kedar Apr 01, 2011

Also, have you tried uninstalling it COMPLETELY before reinstalling?

By "completely" I meant not just Reinstalling, over the existing installation, but Uninstalling (restarting the computer...) and then Installing again from scratch...

Best bet is to obtain new installation media. If the recovery cds were corrupted chances are system files are corrupted as well. NTLDR or NT Loader, contains information regarding location of system files, operating system etc. To correct it you'll most likely have to reinstall, either fresh, or run a repair operation using whatever OS install disc you're looking to run on your machine.

Since there was an error that occurs during the installation the MS office is not successfully installed to your pc. You have to uninstall the corrupted file and reinstall it again.

Hello! Here is my problem; I have Gateway MX6426 laptop and CD drive went off. When I try to install Windows XP from external CD drive some problems occurred. I put CD in ext.CD drive, run clean...

Press F1, ie for Gateway to enter Bios settings.
Go to your BIOS MENU,

From "Boot options" set 1st boot to "removable drives" save the setting, ie if you are using an external CD/DVD or USB flash drive. If you are using an external CD/DVD Rom, ensure that the power supply to the external CD/DVD Rom drive is sufficient.

Try and reinstall the Operating System again.

Hope it helps, and good luck.

Reboot is in a loop and c drive is corrupt

I had this same problem on a machine that was brought in for me to repair. After removing a lot of spyware, the machine started logging out immediately after logging on. Here's how I fixed it: First: I used the XP CD to boot to the recovery console("R" at the first prompt). From there, I ran chkdsk /r c: to fix problems on the hard drive. There were plenty. Second: I rebooted to the XP CD to repair the installation of Windows XP. Do not use the "R" Recovery Console this time. Instead go through as if you are going to reinstall afresh and when it detects the current installation, choose the option to repair it. That corrected the problem. It seemed to be an issue with errors on the hard drive related to corrupted user profiles because I could not log in with any account. Hope this helps.

Hard drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Start by trying to do a repair of your filesystem using your original Operating System disk. (What OS are you running)

You should be able to boot from the CD, if not check your BIOS settings and make sure the cd is set to be a boot device. Then go through the installation instructions and select repair, that will reinstall the system files without losing your data.

If the repair works, one of the first things i would do is update your virus software and run a full scan as well as perform a chkdsk /R
to make sure there are no bad blocks on the drive. Something cause that system file to get corrupted.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

Office Suite 2009 will not install It come up disk might be corrupted or could be using a format that is not compatble with windows

Which window is running on your PC?

Have you try the CD on any other PC also?

First try to open and explore the CD and if all files are accessible then Cd is OK.

Otherwise if the installation is not completed then might be some file missing from it. Is the Office Pack is an original Installation CD brought up from reliable vendor?

After going through these test you will be able to get the solution for your problem yourself. Please rate the solution also.

Thanks
Scott
