How do I replace the hard drive on a acer aspire 1362lc laptop

There is a little cover on the back of the laptop that houses the hard drive. Take the screws out, the hard drive will be exposed, there may be screws holding the HD in. Remove the HD and replace. Reinstall the operating system.

Noisy harddisk failed

Hi there,

This video isn't for your model, but it will give you a general idea of removing the hard drive:

Once you've removed the drive you'll need to either plug it into a desktop or get a hard drive caddy from a local electronics store.

Then you can use EaseUS recovery found here
to try to recover data from the drive, but to be honest, if it's actually making noise, that means it's had a head crash or something similar and you chances of getting data are pretty slim.

Where is the HD placed of the Aspire 1362LC

The hard drive for laptops are usually located on the bottom of the laptop for newer models. There is usually a small picture stamped into the plastic that looks like 3 discs. The older laptops are mounted either on the front, back or sides.
