HDMI should transmit both Video and Audio. It's the best quality of all of the methods. Just make sure that you have your sound set to HD sound. You can do that by right-clicking your speaker icon at the bottom (by the time), and choosing Volume Control Options and make sure that Digital Audio (HDMI) is selected.
This would work for Windows 7 or Vista Operating Systems. XP is similar, but you will have to play around with.

Did so, got visual, but no sound... speaker ON on TV , but no sound either. connected other laptop, works fine... DVI works fine
