Question about Sony Car Audio & Video

Open Question

I have a Sony XAV-60 when I pluged the sub output to my RCA it still would not let me change the subwoofer settings in the menu. Is there a way to turn the sub output on or should it jus recognize the RCA plugged into it. Hope I'm making some kind of sense

SOURCE: Rampage BA-100 200W amplified subwoofer

Choycemoon, that will work, that's how I did mine. I can control the Low frequency, and the Bass from my headunit, which kicks **** bigtime. You don't need a remote switch, to turn on anything. Everything will power up when the key is turned on, and shuts off when it's turned off. Hook it up just like you said, and it will work fine. Once you get it hooked up, and hear it, just for grins, diconnect one of the sub wires, and hear how bad your speakers sound. That little sub kicks ***! Can't beat it for the $.

Pull the power connection out completely for 20 min... This should reset the system all together. Just make sure everything besides the power stays connected.

SOURCE: sub output

I had the same problem - had to 're-boot' the system to make it connect. See page 17 of the manual. You need to turn it off, hold the on/off button for 5 sec until you see ENTER, then hit enter - you should see CLEARING and CLEARED. Then you have re-set up the system. It was the only way I could connect the sub woofer.

I have a Sony XAV-W1 Dash Head Unit for my car. It has a Sub-Out port (which obviously takes in one RCA Cable). I don't know how to use it. Can anyone guide me?

The Sub Output is a dedicated subwoofer preout the sends signal to your sub amp and allows you to set and control you sub independently from the rest of your speakers. You must have a separate subwoofer amp to utilize thus feature.

Have sony xav-60 head unit trying to install a rear view camera, but having issues getting unit to switch over when in reverse what wires need to go where camera has yellow video output 1 red wire, 1 black...

You might try the truly wireless QuickVu(TM) Wireless Backup Camera. Run the yellow RCA cable from the receiver to your Sony unit, if it has an RCA input. The QuickVu camera has no wires, so that part is really easy. Buy direct from the manufacturer!

How do i connect my klh bassbite V subwoofer to my sony receiver model str de335?

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/STRDE335.PDF

I am basing hookup on my Bassbite !! manual. The procedure should be the same as on your Bassbite V

I have given you a link to your Sony Owner manual. It looks like you will connect your sub to the sub output on the rear of your reciever using the rca cable. Woofer out on the Sony to the R/Mono input on your Bassbite. If you have the front and rear speakers hook your rears into the rear speaker outputs then connect your front speakers to the front speaker outputs of your Sony. Your speaker jacks on the Bassbite will not be used for this configuration.

Now, adjust your speaker size setting for "SMALL" or "LARGE" speakers as appropriate for your setup (this is for the front and rear speakers and will not effect your Bassbite). Now set your Sony subwoofer output to "ON" You access this setting through your menu. That should be located on your remote for the Sony. You will want to refer to the manual to find the exact method to access your system menu.

If the link to your manual doesn't work for you then go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=STRDE335 and click on Operating instructions.

Hope this helps. Let me know okay? By the way, if this works for you you should be very pleased with the sound quality :-)

Kindly, DAVID (sean1dave)

Sony SW no sound

does this sub have an LFE output? if so, connect that to the LFE input on the reciever and make sure it is set up properly in the set up menu in speaker configuration. if the sub has speaker line input outputs, connect speakers to input of sub and out of sub to amp/recvr

Connect powered subwoofer

  • If your receiver has a dedicated subwoofer line level output, we recommend connecting your subwoofer to this jack. Most receivers will have just one (mono) subwoofer output, while quite a few subs require two inputs. You can use an RCA "Y" adapter cord , which is a cable with one female RCA jack at one end, and two male RCA plugs at the other. Some receivers require menu settings (such as "sub-on" or "front speakers-small") that must be made before the sub output will be active.

Did you try making sure the subwoofer is turned on under the set up menu on the Sony Receiver?

Press Set Up, Press the left or right button above the scroll wheel until you get to SW. It should say SW: ON or SW: OFF. If it says SW: OFF, use the Scroll wheel to scroll right until it says SW: ON. Also, make sure you aren't in 2CH mode, try A.F.D or surround sound.
