Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

1 Answer

My daughter dropped her TI-84 plus. Two batteries came out. When powered on it said "ram cleared" and all her programs and manually entered formulas are gone. Apps are still there, but not programs and especially the formulas. ACT's are next weekend and she's in meltdown mode at the thought of re-entering everything. Is there any way to recover / restore this stuff? THANKS for any info or assistance!

I'm sorry to tell you that your daughter is out of luck :(
In the ti calculators, most data is stored in ram. this includes programs, variables, etc. the RAM is kept in its current state by battery power. But, when that battery power is lost the ram reverts to its normal state, erasing all data stored in it.
you best bet is going to be to re enter all data possible as fast as possible in time for testing
hope that helps :)

Can I retore a cleared progam on my ti84

If you only cleared RAM, a program that was loaded no longer resides in RAM, but if it was archived, it should still be available.
If you cleared all Including Archives, then it is lost.

Every few hours, all of my programs disappear on my calculator and this is preceeded by a message that says, "RAM CLEARED"

Try changing the batteries.
First replace the main AAA batteries and see if the problem persists. If it does, the backup battery is depleted and it must be replaced. When you replace the backup battery, the main batteries must be installed in the calculator otherwisw you may lose your programs.

If Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator hangs on screen "RAM CLEARED" , what should I do?

You should try a few different things:

1) Press the Clear button
2) Press the On Button
3) Remove and replace the batteries

If the final step does not work, you should also remove the backup battery. This is located UNDER the AA batteries. You will need a small screwdriver to remove the cover. Replace everything and turn the calculator back on.

RAM CLEARED?

Hello,
The most likely reason is that the backup battery is drained. Change the backup battery. When you get the Ram Cleared message, just press [CLEAR] to erase the message and start using the calculator.
Hope it helps.

RAM Cleared

This is kinda a weird situation. Because it's usually the other way around. Your ram will clear if your calculator is frozen. So take out all 5 batteries from the back. Even the back up battery. Then reset it again. 2nd then + then 7 then 1 Then 2. Good luck.

My screen was frozen and I needed to do a manual reset. If you take out 1 battery from the back....hold the "del" key down and reinsert the battery while holding it down....it will reload the programming into the calc
