Most likely the blue gun is shorting out, or the ic on the neck board is defective,
or u can try turninr down the screen control for the blue gun
the controls access via the front panel, pull speaker grill off screws on sides or at bottom of grill
remove plate togain access to block of 6 controls, 3 are focus and 3 are screen brightness
center up/dwn are green
left up/dwn are red
right are blue

Turn on the big screen sony tv, but fades to blue

You probably have a bad BLUE CRT. Due to the cost and the length of time it would take to repair, I would not invest the money into it. It would require a Qualified Service Person to come to your home and remove the BLUE CRT assembly and send it back to SONY to be rebuilt. Estimated cost would be around 800.00. I would check prices of a replacement set.
I hope this helps,

Cloudy Blue Color Covering Whole Screen

I think its time for sony to face a claas action, they do not supply parts in less than 7 years, and the unit should not have been sold so $high, they should buy them back, that is the best solution

Blue screen.....

You have the classic sign of the failed Sony CRT. This was a VERY common issue with tese series of TV's. Just replacing the blue CRT alone isn't easy as they are no longer available and have to be pulled to be rebuilt. If you do that I highly suggest replacing the green and the red as they will follow. Maybe not now but trust me they will. You are looking over 1000.00 in repairs.

Big screen troubles....

It is either going to be a shorted blue CRT (picture tube) or a driver board for it. I suspect the CRT itself.
