Hello there. In order to fix your problem you should
1.Go to windows start menu 2. click on control panel 3.select hardware and sound 4.then click on sound 5. a box should pop up showing your speakers and output devices 6. click the recording tab at the top of the window 7. in this window you should see your microphone 8. right click on its icon and make sure you click enable.
