I just purchased a printer, and its not working. i've checked all the wires and every thing seems to bne connected. Help!

Hello mjmedassist,

If your printer is still under the return date policy, please dont spend alot of time troubleshooting it. As long you have the receipt, you are intitled for an exchange.

If this is not the case, the printer needs to be added and it will take you the process of installing the drivers.

Try checking the paper path, there might be a broken or loose gear in there, a bent wire or stuck debris. If you done this and all seems ok but the error message keeps flashing, try to do a hard reset. That usually clears off error messages. If nothing happens, you might need to call a technician.

Check if interface at the back of printer is interchangeable to the type of port your computer will support it. Direct USB to USB or direct connection is recommended to avoid future issues.

Download a PCL5e driver from here

This printer should work with any PCL5e compatible driver, you may not be able to address all of the trays etc, but you can overcome this by changing tray at print time on the printer control panel.

I've try to connect my HP laserjet 5p printer to my mac g4, I purchased a USB cable. It prints unreadable text and won't stop, any ideals?


Make sure that you are using the correct drivers for your printer, run through the printer setup again and then check the print.

I have a HP Color Laserjet 3600DN. The initial problem was no duplex printing. It wasn't pulling the paper back down. I replaced the duplex transfer belt. No luck. I then replaced the duplex reverse...


I've worked on these printers for years and I never heard of a "duplex transfer belt".
Sounds like you broke a wire or missed plugging in a connector.
Probably a bad Duplex Feed Drive assembly or bad DC Controller.

I,ve tried forever and cant connect to wireless network, it finds the ssid but wont connect


A couple of quick questions:
Have you got the correct security and encryption types to pop into the WLAN setup wizard on the printer?
Have you entered any passwords correctly ensuring case sensitivity?
And finally, how far is the printer from the router?
Sorry if these seem like patronising questions, just trying to rule out a few things first of all.

BROTHER MFC-6490CW won't connect to wireless router


Having the same issue with 6490CW and Uverse internet. It connected just fine to my wireless when I had AT&T DSL. Well, just fine is an overstatement, it would constantly go "offline" and need to be re-connected but at least it printed fine when it was. Now, I switched to Uverse and it WILL NOT connect wirelessly. I went the cabled ethernet route and it STILL has tons of issues recognizing the printer and printing, often stopping mid print and spitting out a half printed page or just not printing at all and telling me the printer is turned off. Next step is to try connecting with a straight up USB connection, bypassing the network completely. I feel like that's my only option short of getting a new printer. Brother's software simply does not work with some networks it seems. I guess it has issues with FIOS as well. This does not surprise me and it is also not surprising that Brother has not updated the drivers for my printer since 2009. Pretty ridiculous since things have changed a lot on the technology front in almost 4 years.

Canon MX310 doesn't go on and Alarm light goes on solid.


disconnect it again for sometime.also try to remove the cartridges from the printer if possible.and take out the power wire of the printers back for sometime.also remove if any computer wire connected to the back of the printer and then slowly ---slowly connect every thing back and check out.it should work.as the printer is new and the alarm light also bliks if the internal parts gets misallighned or blocked internally.if such problems get it replaced.

Connecting lexmark printer


plz remove the tapes from the printer and connect it to a power socket with the correct wire. then open the lid of the printer and insert the cartridge.then switch on your pc and insert the cd which come with your printer and follow the instructuion. plz do not connet your printer to pc untill the message tell you to connect.You can check the manual for futher help
