Question about Bosch RotoZip RZ05-1100 RZ5 Base kit

Open Question

I have a Roto Zip RZ10 F012MD1001 and it quit working. I took it apart and found one of the brushes was worn out while the other brush looked good. Is this a typical condition for this unit? I have had it for about 4 years and have been using it quite a bit. How difficult is it to replace the brushes with new ones? Also, are there drawings to show how to replace brushes? Thanks. Larry

Took my mr coffee burr apart a little spring fell out now the grinder doesnt work where dose the spring go

Im first wondering why u took a good grinder apart ??? could it be that it was working only intermittently ?? if that is so , im betting the little spring is either the spring that pushes the start switch back up when u let go (otherwise it would run forever) or it might be a motor brush holder tension spring , that's most likely why its working only intermittently the brushes are worn down and need replaced , a neet hack 4 this is to use electric drill brushes ! I found they fit and can be sourced from a well stocked hardware store !!

How can i replacethe carbon brushes on my angle grinder as they are totally and completely worn off

Buy the new brushes from the manufacturer. You already have the old ones out - put the new ones in the same way you took the old ones out.

My craftsman 12 amp 18"

If the brushes are really short, that could be a lot of the loss of power if they are not making good contact with the commutator. If you can not find your model number, see if you can locate an identical one or one of the same motor. You may have to try going into Sears to see if there is one on the sales floor and get the model number off that one.

Hoover F7458-900 SteamVac The brushes quit

My Hoover F7458-900 was doing the same thing, brushes not turning and since it is about 7 years old and out of warrenty I decided I had nothing to lose so I took it apart after reading all the other posts on this problem. The brushes are actually turned by a turbine motor (no belts involved) that runs off air produced by the vaccum motor of the unit. The air turns a metal spindle that then turns several nylon gears in the turbin the last of which turns the brushes. The nylon gear that engages with the metal spindle was worn down to the point that it was no longer engaging with it and thus not turning.
The only fix for this problem is to buy a new turbin motor which is not that expensive about $34 plus shipping since they don't sell just the nylon gear. Hope this helps

I have had similar problems in the past using my Roto-Zip on jobs. You may want to check the internal brushes in the machine have not been clogged with the dust from the ceramic tiles. The unit may have simply overheated from the stress of cutting the tile. This will also affect the brushes in the Roto-Zip. A can of compressed air may help clear any dust built up around the brushes. If they brushes are caked with to much dust, you may have to take the unit appart and manually clean the brushes. But, be careful because the brushes are spring loaded. Hope this information is helpful.

Same problem. New last fall, quit after 30 min.

The brushes for the trimmer is no longer available, so unless you can find someone who has old stock of the part, your going to have to replace this one.
