There is no bios update for this item. What you might need to do is locate a firmware update for it if there is one. The issue is that something in the replicator is using the same IRQ that the touchpad has. Dock the computer and use device manager and see if there are any conflicts. If there are set up a hardware profile for docked and normal. In the docked mode you want to disable the other offending hardware.

Dell 6420 laptop not recognizing USB ports while on docking station

Hello Jackie.

2 of youre USBs are USB 3. so you need to install the right drivers for USB 3.
Also you should check youre BIOS settings, if there is an option to enable "XHCI" support so enable it. (USB 3 needs this to work ).

Dear Sir/Madam, I have a notebook TM8572T-484G50 which I put into EZ Port IV port replicator to use it as a desktop. However, when I connected the network cable to the port replicator, it doesn't...

It appears that the ethernet connection from the laptop to the replicator is bad.
This will likely need to be serviced by a qualified Acer repair facility.
Your other option (likely cheaper too) is to simply get a USB ethernet connector to use when it's docked.

Can I use a 1978u replicator with my 8100 if I remove the locking arm?

try to turn it on ... it should have no problem with the "electronics"

if you got message that the docking is not compatible, then you will have to flash your notebook bios to the latest 8100 BIOS.

If same case still happen after updating your BIOS, use C840 bios (which AFAIK will not harm your notebook). It will then read the docking/port replicator correctly.

Both BIOS can be found here

Give it a shot ...

Usb port dont work

Usually issue might be BIOS and Chipset related
first of all ensure if your BIOS is up to date, latest released version is Flash BIOS v1.3505, If yours is below this update the BIOS
next step will be updating the Chipset (Intel Chipset driver v8.0.0.1009)

Both of the drivers are available. I am adding the direct link for your convenience. Here is the link;
