Try tightening the screws on the breaker and the neutral(white) wire in the breaker box. They loosen up over time and cause the breaker to trip.

When I put the plug in the wall it keeps tripping the fuse what can I do

hi ya

if its tripping the MCB on the consumer unit there could be several reasons,

The fuse in the plug is too low / high in the plug, as the Air con, requires more power on start up,

it is also worth checking the plug is wired correctly E N Live etc..

or the MBC is too low, normally sockets are 16 amp - if its lower check with a qualified electrician it will be noted on the MCB denoted sockets

if the air con is portable, or able to be plugged in else where try upstairs sockets or kitchen sockets as these should be on a different circuit - if it does trip on these the air con is faulty and dump or see if a qualified repair agent is local

but always consult someone who is qualified - simply doing the above should be fine,

Why when plugged in to my electrical sockets it keeps tripping out my electrics.

Either Faulty , or the unit power is to much for the electic cable / system. Always when power trips out , it's to do with the unit you have plugged in, (ie ) If it's a 3 kilowatt fire, this will trip unit as unit very sensitive

Hotpoint tcl770 condencer tumble dryer, just out of warantee. when turn on and start it keeps tripping the electrics. changed plug fuse etc, tried in various sockets but keeps tripping the system???

internal problem, either heater coil or sensor or motor, you will need to get it checked, but don't plug it in again, as short circuits on high current machines can be dangerous.

I have an ideal standard he30 boiler instaledi have an ideal standard he30 boiler instaled about 6 weeks ago. the boiler keeps losing presure about half a bar every 2 days if i dont top it up it will trip...

Hi,
You have a problem that the installer does not know how to fix so they are just stringing you along hoping that you will give up and find some one else or forget about it..
You need to tell them to
1. fix the boiler correctly
2.take it back out and give you a new one at their expense
3. or tell them you will call another comapny to fix it and will give the bill to them to pay.
You did not get what you have paid for... do not pay them any money to come out and troubleshoot the boiler.
The boiler should work as the instructions say or someone did something wrong...
Sometimes it is best to call the boiler company and talk directly to their Tech. Support people.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

All the combis I've come across merely fail to fire if the pressure is not up. not only do they not fire, nothing else works including the pump and in any event the pump should not overheat just on low pressure.
water loss - try turning off the valves on the flow & return pipes [3/4 inch ones] 1 valve per pipe . This will isolate the rest of the system - rads etc Note pressure over a time period. In this mode the hot water circuit will still work but do NOT use the heating circuit
1/2 bar over 2 days is not serious but it should be found
Once you have either mended the leak in the rest of the system or found there is not one, insist on a replacement boiler
In any event having looked at the reasons given for the fuse blowing, I would definitely get a replacement.
These problems should not happen on a new boiler
I list Worcester.-Ariston-GlowWorm-Ideal- and many others who would confirm this

Domestic oil fired central heating. Keeps tripping out with no oil feed(has tiger loop and this is empty) If oil is drawn through filling tiger loop again boiler will fire up and run for betweeen 2 days...

many times the feeder tube from the bottom of the tank becomes perforated. the return tube is ok most of the time . try switching the 3 8 tubes from inlet to outlet and see if problem resolved. if so the the tube down into the tank is flawed.

Washing machine keeps tripping electric switch

Hiya,
there is a few things that will do this to your electics 1st & formost if your trip switch is tripping off remember this is a safty device to prevent fire so ignoring the problem & switching the power back on to try again could run the risk of fire!!

when the power trips you will need to know at what point in the wash this happens if its when the machine is emptying then it would be a pump issue if the machine is emptying no problem then the issue is more likely to be the motor either of which would need to be replaced if you are having these problems.

on rare ocasions you can spring a leak & if water gets on the electrics this will also trip the power but this is 1 of the least likely posabilatys.. rest assured if the power is tripping off then your home electrics are working fine & to confirm all sockets run from 1 main fuse all lights run from a second main fuse then there is a few other bits that run on there on fuses too i.e. cooker, power shower etc.. remember always get a qualified electrician to work on your electrics to ensure the job is carried out correctly

Hope this helps
