This sounds really strange, Start from a shutdown and power cord removal, for 30 secs, reconnect power and boot.

IF the issue continues, please respond back to me and we'll got to the next step. Info that I would also need is OS, Antivirus, and any other details.

Do you find it difficult to drag and drop? Copy files from one folder to another OR move a file from one folder to another? Try this:
  • Open the Windows Explorer. How? Hold down the [WIN] key together with E key. Make this window size in between MAXIMUM and MINIMUM.
  • Open one more window and size it medium as before.
  • Adjust the positions so that you can see both windows side by side
  • Select a drive and folder from one window.
  • Slowly drag it and drop it to an empty space in the other window.
  • If you hold down the [CTRL] key while dragging, you will get a duplicate in the second folder.
  • OR highlight a file from one window , right click, then click on COPY; Now click into the next window, right click on an empty space and click on PASTE

Duplicate emails in Outlook Express?

When Outlook Express is configured for POP3 mail access it uses a file called pop3uidl.dbx to keep track of which message have been downloaded so that it can download only new messages. Sometimes this file becomes corrupted which results in the same messages getting downloaded again. So we will need a different copy of this file. Please do the following to recreate it:

- In Outlook Express click on Tools and Options.
- Click on maintenance tab.
- Click on Store folder button.
- It will open a small window with a path to the store folder.
- Copy the whole path.
- Click on start and Run.
- Click inside the run box and press Ctrl+V, it will paste the whole path we copied.
- Click on OK. It will open the store location.
- Close Outlook Express.
- In the folder that was opened, locate the pop3uidl.dbx file and right click on it and select rename.
- Rename that to pop3uidlold.dbx.
- Open Outlook Express and you will no longer receive any duplicate messages.

If you are using IMAP account, that can happen if your IMAP account is the default mail account and OE is configured to both open directly to the Inbox (which downloads headers automatically) and check for new messages when starting (which also downloads headers automatically). To stop the duplicates, simply choose one option or the other, but not both:

In Outlook Express click Tools > Options, then
1. Remove the check mark for When starting, go directly to my ‘Inbox’ folder
OR
2. Remove the check mark for Send and receive messages at startup.

If you already have duplicates showing, click Tools > Synchronize Account or Synchronize All.

Deleting Folders in Outlook

Delete a folder
  1. On the Go menu, click Folder List.
  2. In the Folder List, in the Navigation Pane, right-click the folder you want to delete.
  3. On the shortcut menu, click Delete folder name.
Notes
  • The default Personal Folders file (.pst), which is set as the default folder for receiving new messages, cannot be deleted. If you have duplicate Personal Folders, you can remove the duplicate folders from the Folder List. Removing the duplicate folder doesn't delete the data file, which remains on your computer's hard disk.
  • When you delete a Search Folder, only the folder is deleted. Search Folders are virtual folders that contain views of all Items meeting certain search criteria. The items shown in the deleted Search Folder remain in their original folders.

How can i delete unwanted files in my pc? how to clean my hard disk

I suggest you try Duplicate Filter from http://www.duplicatefilter.com, which is a powerful tool to assist anyone in cleaning up the contents of their personal hard drive or corporate network. You'd be surprised just how many unwanted or duplicate files you could find forgotten in an obscure documents folder.
Here are the ways to find and delete duplicate files:
1. Click "Add Folder" button in "Find Duplicate" section to select the folders you wish.
2. Select Compare Mode: Check by Name+Size, by CRC+Name, by CRC only, by Name only, by Size only.
3. Click "Scan" button and start to find duplicate files.

4. After searching the duplicates, you can choose to delete them, move or copy them to a different folder, or rename them in their current location. 83007d66-f221-4e67-84c1-ce94b6648e4e.jpg Duplicate Filter Free Software to Find and Remove Duplicate Files

In Windows Media Player 11, duplicate entries on playlists

If you go into the "add new tracks" settings and make sure that MP11 is not looking at folders you don't want it too, I.E. backup folders on an external HDD. You have to remove the files manually or, as I did, rename or move the folder(s) with the duplicates in and when MP11 tries to play them and can't find them you can set it to delete from library automaticaly.

Need to remove duplicate files

Hello rvpooley

My name is Billy.

PC Junktion is dedicated to finding solutions to those pesky computer problems.
Since you know what kind of files your are searching for, In XP, Windows Search Companion makes it easy to find duplicate files with the file search utility.

There are also many fine and free programs for accomplishing this mechanical feat. Let's first look at the Window's utility.

Create a Folder on My Desktop by right clicking and select new folder. Name this folder "Mixed up files" or something you can remember. It will be on your desktop.

GOTO->START->(menu pops up)->Click Search(magnigfying glass icon)->All Files and Folders->
Stop and take this in.
Text files will end in .txt, word docs end in .doc or (2007) .docx
picture files will most likely be .jpg, .bmp, .gif, or .png.

NOW:
We are going to use a wildcard search. An asterisk(*) represents the filename ina wildcard search.

For example in the [All or part of the filename] Box, we can search for ALL files of that flavor.
Type these wildcards in the first box exactly or copy and paste.
*.txt; *.jpg; *.gif; *.bmp; *.png;

LOOK IN: Drop Down Box-> CLICK->My Computer

Click Search. Be patient, there may be more than you know of...

Wait for the utility to finish.

GOTO Edit in the Toolbar and choose Select All. Move to the folder you created in My documents.

You know have them in one folder (on your Desktop) and now I will find a utility to handle the job.
You may want to back up to a DVD or CD in case of a crash.

I will be back tomorrow.

Hope this helps for now.

Billy

Import all your music back into iTunes and in one of the submenus should be "view duplicates"delete the duplicates.
then in one of the submenus should be "consolidate library"
clicking this will move all of your music into one consolidated folder
