Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Hello HP Photosmart 8750. A4 quality photo prints have vertical three-colour stripe through entire page. Replaced all thee cartridges - no improvement. Converted jpeg image to PDF and printing produced same problem. Two attempts resulted in printer halting and saying it was jammed. Part printed paper showed same stripe on printed section or ejected paper. Stripe is always in same location close to centre of page. Using HP high gloss paper. I would at this stage dump the printer but for the fact that I have just bought a stock of (very expensive) cartridges! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Peter

Welcome to Fixya
Try to use a different paper and see if you are getting the same problem. Adjust the paper-width and paper-length guides so they rest gently against the edges of the paper. Check for any small materials or objects in the rollers. Clean the rollers if possible. Please see documentation regarding this issue.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Thank you for using Fixya!

My HP Photosmart C6380 all in One is now printing colour and black and white photos with a green/blue colour in dark/black areas of the photo replacing what should be black or gray. It never used to do...

To see which color is having an issue, go to printer control panel and select "settings" > Tools> Print report> Print Quality report. When the page prints out, you will see which color is the problem. After you have figured that out, make sure the problem is not with the cartridge.
If you see lines or missing colors, clean the printhead by removing it from printer(open cover, lift gray latch on the right side of the cartridges, remove cartridges and the printhead will easily slip out by pulling up)
then soak the printhead in half inch deep amount of window cleaning solution. Preferably warm. Let soak at least 3 hours. Dry out the printhead and wipe rear conacts from moisture and dirt. Reinstall into printer and see the results.

HP Photosmart C7100 - only 10% of page printer

If your printer does not print the entire page, it is probably because the print head is clogged. Try going to print preferences and locate "maintenance". Find the "clean print head" option and click on it. Follow the instructions. You might have to do it several times, and that will use a lot of your ink, but it might do the trick!
As for the "printer can't get calibrate", that is refers to your print head. That has nothing to do with your cartridges, as they are just tanks with ink in it. Check this link, might help:

Poor photo printing quality with new color cartridge

Shaking these cartridges does nothing except give you a little exercise. If this is a brand new HP cartridge you are having problems with I would return it to the store you purchased it from. HP brand cartridges should not give you these problems right out of the box. The print defects you are seeing are due to a dried up or clogged print head. If you like you can try hydrating the print head on a water soaked paper towel until the ink starts flowing, but there's a risk you will cross contaminate the colors.

HP C4500 ink consumption

Dear Sir,

Now a days all HP ink catridges available at low price that means ink quantity is also low.So if you print heavy coloured pages it will deffinately consumes more ink.So print in gray scale or black and white consumes low ink. Compare to gray scale, black and white printing consumes very low ink. So print in black and white is the better choice.

good luck

Vertical and horizontal lines when printing photos - HP Photosmar

Hi,
it sounds as if you may have the picture quality set to draft, its worth a check, especially if printing is ok. Does it print colour writing well too or just black, one of the colour inks may have a block or be low, go into printer settings menu and check what print quality its set for.

HP7660 Photosmart Printer

It comes with HP #57 (C6657 A)—Tri-color print cartridge and HP #56 (C6656A)—Black print cartridge and the 56 must always be in there (the black one) but acceptable replacements for the color one are as follows: HP #58 (C6658A)—Photo print cartridge I suggest for the best photos use 58 and 56.

You could have printhead problems but I would offer that you do a deep clean and consider replacing cartridges with OEM
