Sounds like your mainboard / process is stalling ,, try the following,,

  1. unplug machine
  2. open it up to expose the mainboard
  3. remove the memory module(s) / Ram(s)
  4. locate and remove the battery (its like a flat large watch battery)
  5. press and hold the power button for 10 seconds then release
  6. replace memory / rams and battery
  7. plug in and turn on.
if that fails repeat steps 1 to 4 then

  • remove the heatsink
  • remove the processor
  • press and hold the power button for 10 seconds then release
  • replace processor / memory / battery
  • plugin and retry

    the rams look like thishttp://www.wisdia.com/images/uploads/dx_...

it plugs into the main board you will see it held in place by 2 clips on eighter ends

to remove the battery there is a silver pin to the side, pull the pin back or simply pry the battery up.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

    any luck yet ?

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

http://www.supremelaw.org/systems/heatsi... it may look a bit differently on your board,

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

the heat sink is held in place by a clip, remove clip and that and slide the clip locks out. Now when the heatsink is removed the processor is under the heatsink, lift the clip to the side of the processor to raise the processor out.,

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

the processor is under the heat sink, the heat sink is held in place with eighter a sprint clip running through it, or being held in place by 4 clips to the corners of it.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

    http://www.fast-autos.net/diecast-cars-m...

you cab see the clip at the side its black in color

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

pull the clips apart (away from the rams to take it out)

take a pic of the board for me s i can draw out what needs to be done..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

ok give me the exact make and model ,,, in the mean time see if this helps

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

TWIST the white pegs its wili pop up, the pegs are the clips
    turn them to loosen.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 01, 2011

yes thats quite correct,, take them off..

be careful DO NOT TOUCH THE PINS UNDER THE PROCESSOR..

in the case where the processor sits is a lever to the side, lift it up to unseat the processor..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

    yes it does

    sorry for the delayed response

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

well next we check to see if the processor or main board is bad,, cause we need to replace 1 if not both of them..

remove the memory module and turn it on, tell me if you hear beeping sounds..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

its the same rams that i told you to remove earlier

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

ok put them back in,,, I think we been looking at the wrong problem

look at where you monitor connects
ssee it connects to a circuit board that is connected to the main board..

remove that board its called a graphics card.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

put the card back in and try it now (graphics card)

if not simply purchase a new new one of those graphics cards..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

Sorry i meant rams not graphics card.. take the graphics card out and put it back in,, if the beeping is still there replace the rams......The memory module is bad,

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

just to clearifty... you hear beep,, pause, beep, pause, beep pause, beep pause... etc etc ..

    or just 1 beep ???

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

Good ,, how many ram sticks do you see ,, ( I AM 100$ sure one of them is damaged) ,, take out 1 at a time until the system boots up..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

    i mean 100%

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

take out the first leave the second, try it

    if that fails
take out the second put in the first

there has to be at least 1 stick insde for the system to boot.

if not then both sticks are damaged .. try it..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

well we need to get replacement rams,, ok here is what you do,,
take the cpu with you to a shop,, tell them put inthe rams for you, and set back your bios..

or you can buy the rams your self,, and put them in,, when the system propmts you press f2, 10, y enter to reset your bios

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

no the graphics card wont cause the beeping like that,, but try the rams from your backup computer....

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

look at the tag on your rams, verify it says DDR2 its around 55$http://www.nextag.com/2gb-ddr-pc3200/pro...

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

nah the order dont matter.. just verify its the same "PC200 or 3200" whatever,, the amount like 1gb or speed 800 mhz dont have to be the same to test it out.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

well once its the same type it will,, memory tends to be standered.. not different types but many different brands..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 02, 2011

no problem but we aint done yet, i aint stopping till I'm sure its fixed.. Are you certin you placed the rams back in propperly ???

Why isn't it booting?

There are a ton of possible reasons. Some easy troubleshooting steps:
1) Check the power cable. If you can borrow a different power supply, try that.
2) Remove the battery and try it.
3) Hold down the power button for 20 seconds or so.

Beyond that, tell us everything you're seeing and hearing when you try to boot.
1) What indicator lights does your computer have? Which ones light up when you're trying to boot?
2) Is there any change in the screen when you boot. Does it go from a deep "off" black to that slightly lighter "on-but-blank" black?
3) Do you hear any noises? Beeps? Fans? The chatter of a hard disk? The whirr of the CD drive?
4) Does anything appear on the screen? Tell us about any messages that flash up.

Reset button on a powerbook g4

The Powerbook G4 power button functions like a reset button if you hold the power button in for a few seconds until the computer powers down.
  1. Hold the power button in for a few seconds (until you see the screen turn off/go black and hear the fans & hard drive stop spinning).
  2. Press the power button again to turn your computer on.
  3. If you have more trouble, you may need to boot in Safe Mode or "perform a Safe Boot":
Press and hold down the "Shift" key immediately after you hear the start-up tone. Release the "Shift" key when the gray Apple icon appears on the screen.

Acer x3400 wont start up

Remove the Power Cord and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and press the power button. If it reboots you had a Static Charge Buildup and released it by holding the power button for 30 seconds.

When you press the power button do you hear the fan running, disk drives running, cd drive clicks once, anything on the lcd screen? If not I would think your Power Supply is bad and needs to be replaced.

It's either the Power Supply or Motherboard.

Black screen no cursor no keyboard use

When you powered on the machine did you hear any beeps, hear the fan running, the disk drive running, lights blinking, hear the cd drive click, see the light on the cd drive door for a second or two when it clicks? If these things are happening you are getting power. If not, your problem might be with your power supply, hard drive or motherboard. Remove the power cord, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and press the power button. if it boots you had a static charge. If you get nothing at all but a silent system your power supply is bad. If it sounds like your computer is running but you can't see anything on the screen you might have a problem with your screen or video card. If you have another monitor try using it and see what happens. if it works so you can see things then your monitor was bad. If it does not work with another monitor but you still hear fans, and see lights and hear the disk drive spinning, then your video card is probably bad.

The screen on my laptop will not turn on

Two things to try until youre sure its some serious hardware problem.

Firstly hold the power button till its totally off. the click the power button three times?

If it doesnt work, disconnect power source, take off battery, and hold power button for 30 seconds. replace everything and start.

If you hear the fans turn and some sounds from the computer but the screen is still off, you may have to replace the screen. only a professional should handle that.

All the connections work the ps3 comes on but then goes black

You may have messed up the Screen-Settings, to solve this try this.

Step 1: Turn off the PLAYSTATION 3 by holding the Power button on the front of the unit till the Power light is red.

Step 2:
  1. Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the first beep, meaning the PLAYSTATION 3 is powering on.
  2. Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep, indicating the video reset.
  3. Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a third beep and the system will power off (Power light is red).

Step 3:
  1. Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the first beep, again for the PLAYSTATION 3 to power on.
  2. Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep for video reset.
  3. Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep. At that point release the Power button. If you succeeded in activating Safe Mode, you will see a message on the screen saying, "Connect the controller using a USB cable and then press the PS button."
  4. Connect a USB cable to the controller and the PLAYSTATION 3 and press the PS button to enter Safe Mode.
  5. Then you will see the Safe Mode menu.

Step 4
: We recommending performing the safe mode options in the following order until one of the options works for you. If one of the options work, do not continue onto the other options.
  1. Restore Default Settings
  2. Restore File System
  3. Rebuild Database
  4. Restore PS3 System (This will wipe your harddrive, so remember to backup savegames.)

Acer aspire blue screen appeared went off now laptop starts up for few seconds then turns off again, but always a black screen hear the fan a few seconds but nothing

Try this:
  • check to make sure the fan is actually spinning and that there is no debri (dust bunnies) causing it to overheat.
  • Make sure there is nothing preventing airflow, you may need to tilt the back up to allow more airflow
Is there any display at all? Do you see a BIOS splash screen? Do you hear a beep shortly after powering on?

--if you have a splash screen, go into BIOS setup by pressing a button (del,F1,F10...whatever) then set it factory defaults and save changes

--also try removing anything that's detachable (USB, cards, dvd-rom, RAM, Battery...) Hold down the power button for 20 secs then plug in only the A/C and see if you get a bios screen

Hope this helps
