Question about Amana ACF4265 Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

The range is brand new. After making a pie (which spilled over) I cleaned up most of the spill. I decided to turn on the self cleaning. The oven was on about half an hour when the house was filling with smoke. My eyes were burning, and I couldn't breath. I turn the oven off, and left. Later when I came back where the controls are the oven is yellow, and I can't get it off. I have tried the cleaner that came with the oven, windex, baking soda, dawn dish soap. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what else I could use? Thank You, Andy

SOURCE: Unlocking Oven controls

According to the manufacturer's website you should only need to Press and hold the "Lock" key for 5 seconds. A single tone will sound and the "Loc" will disappear off the display.

This is the link to Whilpool's website and to the manual.

SOURCE: Self clean oven door wouldn't unlock!

Hi,
Try a trick that was given by an expert :-
All I needed to do was unscrew the 2 screws holding the lock assembly and it released it!! I screwed it back in and set the oven to self clean and it worked!!
Unless , F9 refers to slave micro not working. A condition in which you might need to replace control board.
Thanks.

What should I do to clean my oven?

You can use Easy Off 'Fume Free' oven cleaner on a self-cleaning oven, if you want to manually clean it, but do not use it with the self-cleaning cycle.

Frigidaire electric stove

Hello friend, thank you for your post!
If you had an over spill in the back of your Frigidaire oven it could have possibly shorted out the terminal block or control panel. I would recommend cleaning any access spill and contacting a professional to come out and verify no additional internal damage has been done to the appliance. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Could be because it's new. You can buy an oven liner for the bottom to catch the spills. Also there is a product out that is safe for spot cleaning a self cleaning oven.

Spill between glass panes on oven door

The only way to clean this is to dismantle the door. Most brands you can remove the door and set it on a counter to dismantle. This can be very complicated, depending on the brand and model. Leaving the gravy inside the door won't hurt the range, and self cleaning usually will not clean this completely. It usually just bakes it on harder. Good Luck Appliance Specialists

How to set up for self cleaning oven

The first time you do a self clean it does smell weird and you setthe time to 2 or three hours. This uses allot of ellectricity to do the cleaning. I usually just use a oven clenaing product for light cleanup. If you have a pie that has spilled over or something then it works great. The Smell is a bit of ash and smoke from all the things that you are incinerating inside your oven

How do I use the self cleaning functions - kitchenaid oven

Hi,

Please allow me to help you first with some background of self cleaning functions:

Self-cleaning ovens use an approximately 900 degrees Fahrenheit (482 degrees Celsius) temperature cycle to burn off spills leftover from baking, without the use of any chemicals. A self-cleaning oven is designed with a mechanical interlock (patented in 1982) to keep the oven door locked and closed during and soon after the high-temperature cleaning cycle, which can be approximately three hours. The door stays locked to prevent burn injuries. You can open the oven door after the oven cools to approximately 600 F (315 C).

If baking spills are not wiped up after baking, there may be some smoke during an oven cleaning cycle. It is a good idea to remove any pets from the area when running the oven's self-cleaning cycle. There have been reports of oven-heated Teflon-coated items releasing odorless fumes deadly to birds.
Self-cleaning ovens have the added benefit of more insulation, which helps the energy efficiency for regular baking. This is similar in concept to an increased R-factor for home insulation.

You will also save energy costs by using the self-cleaning cycle right after baking, to make use of the already partially heated oven.

Please check this website mentioned bellow which would give you a detailed method of how to perform it:

Hope this would help you .

God Bless.

Spills in between glasses of the oven door.

The door must be taken apart at least most of the way to clean glass. Just so you know, this is a problem with a LOT of the newer makes and models. If there are 2 screws behind the handle, take them out and some of them come apart enough to get your hand a paper towel in to clean. Otherwise, the door must be removed and completly diss-assembled.

Atlas La Stella double oven

Hello Roland,
happy to help you out!
You must clean by way of wiping excess spills and materials dripped or spilled before self clean is operated. Or there will be smoke even during the self clean process!
Also do not wait till there is build up galore to self clean your oven!
If you spill or splatted and drip in the oven that day,
start the self clean after you do the dinner dishes!
More info can be found int he owners manual!
