Question about GPS

1 Answer

I used the latest magellan content manager software (ver 1.9993) to update the software on my 1440 unit. It appeared to complete the install but displayed a window on the GPS titled IBOOT with the text of "Upgrade has been done Please remove the SD card and Reboot the device". Clicking on the OK button in the window does nothing. and the only way to reboot the gps is to hold the power switch over for about 4 seconds and it does a hard shutdown. But the device does not have an sd card installed, and rebooting it just repeats the message. I have tried this plugged into a car charger, a wall charger and into the PC, all with the same result

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My Magellan RoadMate 1340 will power up to logo and "moving clock

Have you tried updating the software on your device.
Go to Magellan.com and download the Magellan Content Manger:
http://www.magellangps.com/products/map.asp?tab=0&PRODID=2216
Once you've installed Content Manger onto your PC, connect your device to your PC using the USB cord. The Content Manager will allow you to update your 1340 with the latest software and updates which 'should' fix the problem that you're having with your unit.

Magellan Roadmate 1470 screen froze at spinning clock

Same thing happened to me. It was working fine yesterday, until I arrived at my destination, then it froze and when I restart it, it stops at the spinning clock. I'm so mad at myself for not researching the update and finding out that this is happening a lot!!
I don't think I have my receipt. It will be interesting to see if Magellan charges me for THEIR mistake!
