Hi,

The software supplied with Vivicam 5385 is compatible only with Windows 2000 / XP operating systems.

So, to transfer the images from your camera to your computer, you will have to use a memory card reader (You can use your computer's built-in memory card reader, if it has one, or you can purchase an external memory card reader as shown in the attached image).
I have a ViviCam 5385 - 6250fe3.jpg

To do this, kindly remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into a card reader. Connect the card reader to the USB port of your PC (if you are using an external card reader).

Now, the memory card will be shown as a "Removable disk" in "My Computer". You can browse the images and copy the images to your computer.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

I have Babylock Palette 5.0 and I want to install on windows 7/32/64bit I do not know which install upgrade to use. I have installed the orginal disk and it does not work properly. Please advise.

Ester,
You will need to upgrade to Palette 8,0 or NeXT versions that are compatible with Windows 7. I'm not sure if Palette 7 upgrade will work either. Other option, may be to get old computer with Windows XP and the right Parallel printer port with the card reader security device for Palette software to work.

OS is Windows XP Professional, my cd drive cannot read the data stored on a DVD disk. My driver is HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCC4482. Thank you

Windows XP is no longer supported, you should up-grade to Win 7 or buy a new computer. As for the DVD that it can't read, try it on a friend's computer and see if it works. If it does, your DVD/CD drive is defective or there is a software driver issue which means you can't receive support from Micorsoft.

Cant download pictures off my camera to my laptop windows 7

connect your phone using a usb lead usually through the bluetooth connection on the phone
windows 7should automatically detect it an install the drivers or you might have to open it open up manually click start right click on my computer you should see your mass storage device if you dont see it
click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of the devices if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark or a red x you will need to update the driver right click on the device to update driver
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver

hope this helps you

How do I turn on the sound? The vivitar vivicam 5385 camera records to video but I cannot hear any sound. Is there somewhere it is turned on or off?

The ViviCam 5385 does not record sound to go with its videos. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.

I know this wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

Most probably find a Vivitar Vivicam 5385 manual here. Just send them a search request. Search service is not for free, but worthy.

I have not got the Disc to download the software for my Vivitar 5385...any ideas..

Hello Tea22me,
The Driver to will depend on your Operating system.
For XP and above, you should not need any drivers for the camera. If you are still on windows 98, then please download the Mass Storage Device drivers from the following link:
http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/235333/vivitar-vivicam-5385-mass-storage-device-driver-windows-98-free-download.html

Please let me know if this works for you.

Help!!!

If you have a recent computer - such as ME/2000/XP Then it is good news. You wont need the disk i infact I tell folk the best place for the disk is in the box - just dont take it out. And if it has been intalled - uninstall it Windows can do very well without. Just plug in the camera, set it up to upload The Camera/Scanner Wizard will come up and ask you all sorts of meaningful questions.

Drivers!

If you have a Windows computer the reason you cannot find a driver is because it does not need one. If you have put software from the supplied disk in - remove it. Reboot the computer Plug the camera in switched to the upload position Windows will then put op the camera/scanner Wizard and you can take it from there
