Please try and follow the detail below.

It is looking for apassword (WiFi Network Key) You have to double click on the little computericon down in the right tool bar area, the one with the two side radiating arcs, and possibly has a small red X under it. The red X indicates that it is NOTconnected. When you double click on that icon a window called RT28701 opens up,then you click on Wireless Information tab, then you cursor down to the name ofyour WiFi and high light it and click the connect box. Then another windowopens up called Network Properties. Uncheck "The key is providedautomatically" box. This will allow you to type in your "NetworkKey", the password that protects your network from outsiders. This"KEY" was set up when you installed the router on your servercomputer. If this does not work at first, turn the machine over on it's backand using a toothpick, insert it into the little hole about an inch diagonallyfrom the right corner of the data plate, this will re-load a new copy ofeverything including the WiFi RT28701 driver. sometimes thisdriver gets confused. See my TIP at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7350901-fix_synet07526_wifi_flashing AdditionalInformation When I try to signon with the red X showing, I get "The page cannot be displayed If I thendouble click on the icon down in the right corner I elucidated above, RT28701opens up to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) with all zeros in the IP addressfield, and Subnet Mask, with no entries in the default gateway. That is a clueto me that the automatic sign on has not found a viable network, or needssomething else. If I then click on Wireless Information tab, the list ofavailable networks, appear in the box. The machine keeps trying to associate myprevious entered name site with my preferred site and tells me the signal isgood, but it cannot link up. This is a signal to me that it has lost my NetworkKey or that the softwarehas failed or both. I then click on advance and delete my preferred network andhit OK, this will force the software to ask me for my network again, and noticethat the preferred is missing. I click on the name of my network again and thenhit connect., then the Wireless Network properties window opens up and I caninsert my Network Key again after I uncheck the "The key is providedautomatically" box. I enter the key and hit the OK button. I still do notget a connection, so I reboot the machine, and wait for about 30 seconds andthe machine synchs up because the little RED X under the icon has disappeared. Now the machine will hook to the internet as long as I want to, but sometimeswhen I turn the machine on it will not synch, so I go through the abovesequence again. The secret is once you have entered your key and ask for themachine to synch up you have to reboot. Why? I do not exactly know, but Isuspect that the WiFi driver looses it You may also wantto look at the TIP http://www.fixya.com/support/r7679654-sylvania_syneto7526_wirless_keyboard To make your knowledge complete

If it new there will be only a few icons on the desktop. In the bottom right of the desktop, the Tray Notification Area, you should see, You didn't supply your OS?, a Network Icon, click on it and open Available Wireless Networks. Your Sylvania Notebook is very light on support, I can't find a user manual.

Cannot accress WiFi on Sylvania SYBET7WIC-BK-Z

The Sylvania Netbook is an inexpensive 7-inch device that is convenient for accessing the Internet on public or private Wi-Fi networks. It is not intended to replace a regular computer for daily tasks; its purpose is to provide a lightweight unit to access social media and perform small tasks. The netbook defaults to mobile websites, but it does a good job at what it is intended to do. Connecting to Wi-Fi networks with your Sylvania Netbook requires configuring the device properly.

Boot up the Sylvania Netbook by pushing the manual switch below the screen. Push the F9 key to turn on the Wi-Fi on the device. Select the little wireless icon in the toolbar at the bottom; it looks like a small computer. Choose the "Wireless Information" tab. This will show the online status of the device, as in whether it has connected to the Internet. If you have checked the box beside this option, this tab also notifies you when new networks are available. If the status shows that you have connected. You may need to add your wireless router manually in the setup. Do this by choosing, "Add New." Obtain the necessary setup information from your wireless Internet provider. If you have an encrypted network, you will need to fill in that information about your router. To configure the wireless setup further, click on the name of the wireless network. Click on "Advanced Settings" and adjust your connection choices; this tab determines the order of connection if there is more than one network available. Another important setting on this tab is the "Allow Windows to configure my wireless settings" option. Check that box. Click the "Internet Explorer" icon on the desktop. If you are online, you will pull up the Google homepage. Hope this helps.

My new sylvania 7" netbook is not

Go to start menu. click on control panel. click on network connections. click on the computer icon that comes up, to the left with list options, one of the options should be search for wireless networks. Your Wifi card might have gotten switched off by accident. The computer icon I spoke of earlier would likely say "not connected" right click and a box will appear click "connect".Or if it is a wireless window, you will want to click scan for available networks. Hope this helps

Please instruct on how to access McDonalds wifi. A booklet was not included with my netbook 7 inch and I am lost. Please detail

From McDonalds:

You need a Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) enabled device.

Most newer laptops have built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. Older versions may require a separate Wi-Fi card, which you can purchase at most larger electronics retailers. Any chip or card that has been certified for compliance with the Wi-Fi wireless LAN standard (IEE 802.11b) can be used. More and more PDAs and even cell phones are now Wi-Fi enabled. A manufacturer or service provider can help you identify these devices.

Connecting is simple:

When in the McDonald's restaurant, just turn on your computer (or PDA), select "Wayport_Access" from the available wireless networks and open the Internet browser. You will be pointed to the McDonald's splash page where you can select the CONNECT button.

I hope this helps - please rate my reply.
