Question about Samsung Refrigerators

2 Answers

I have a model RF26VABPN french door, bottom freezer unit. It has a leak of cold water pooling under the crisper trays. I can't find where the leak is coming from. I clean the water up, and within days, water is starting to pool again. Is this a known problem with this model? Can I get Samsung to fix it?

Defrost drain plugged in fresh food section. Samsung will repair it under warranty. Might pay for it if you complain nicely, if it is out of warranty.

The moisture has to be getting inside to pool. Check your door seals or leaving the doors open to long.

Check the pipe that drains the water from the avaperator (the thing that gets cold inside on the fridge)
periodically your fridge will defrost and the water should drip through a tube and collect at the rear of the fridge
If the pipe is blocked the water collects inside at the bottom ( under the crisper)

Why is water pooling under right crisper?

On defrost refrigerators water is drained down the sides to an outlet on the bottom of the interior of the unit and then to a tray under the unit, close to the floor, where it is heated and evaporates.
If he hole inside is plugged then the water will pool inside.
Take out both crispers and try to find the location where the water will flow out. It may be plugged with gunk The inside bottom of the unit may have indented runs where the water will be directed to the outlet.

Where is the defrost plug on the whirlpool french door model? Water is pooling in the bottom of the freezer and freezing and then it begins to leak.

Hi,
What you seek is the drain pan located in the freezer behind the shelves and racks. Look inside the freezer, you will see the fan cover on the back wall at the top, now on the bottom of that panel is a silverish tray, that has a drain hole that would need to be cleared out to allow defrost water to leave the freezer. You can use hot water to do this, but turn off the unit when you clear this out. Lastly, turn the unit back on once the drain is cleared, may sound stupid, but I forget once and cost me to replace all of the customers food..
Not a difficult job
Good luck

Hi GE top freezer fridge - 5 years old( no ice

Well for one thing that unit was manufactured 10 years ago. But it sounds like the defrost drain is clogged and the water is running down the inside of the unit. The evaporator (not condenser) is on the bottom of the freezer compartment. The bottom panel of the freezer comes out. They are a bit of a pain to do, but can be done.

Side by side leaks out front door on freezer side

try checking the tube that water drains out , it could be plugged with crumbs or old partials of food and causing the problem, This has happened with my fridge at one time , affecting the defrost cycle of the freezer and dripping water out of the door, The tube was located under the crisper in the back of the inside of my fridge, Hope this solves your problem

Water/condensation in both dairy tray and bottom of fridge

My guess is you have a blocked defrost drain. The water instead of going down its drain goes down the backside of the frig and pools up under the crispers. Blow out the defrost drain. The only other thing to look for is bad door gaskets.

Crisper door/water line freeze problem

mar...you're box is set too cold. Use -17 C/38 F on the freezer side which is about 38F/4C on the fridge side. Use an outdoor thermometer and let it sit closed for at least a few hours. Adjust accordingly and this will work out. One adjustment is often the cold vents from the freezer into the fridge. If set too wide, too much cold air gets into the crisper and water lines.
