The control panel does not turn on

When the variable resistor within the volume control unit fails, it is due to the internal wires shorting out. There are stops along the way as the dial rotates and at times you will make contact and create a connection. The only way to fix the problem is to get a replacement cord from the manufacturer or send it back for service.

I spilt milk on my samsung laptop I shut the power off and wondering what is the best way to dry it

Most likely when the laptop dries out the milk residue will stop the keyboard keys from working properly. Depending upon how much milk has been spilt the milk may have penetrated to the motherboard and caused more damage.
Place the laptop in a warm area for several days.
If the laptop boots up properly but the some of keyboard keys don't work then a replacement keyboard may fix your problem.
Keyboard replacement maybe available from this WEB site.

I have a JWIN VD519 DVD player that has worked fine till this evening. The remote suddenly stopped responding even after changing for new AAA duracell batteries. Nothing has been spilt on the remote...

Hello

you can test your remote with a mobilephone camera like this:

open camera on the phone an hold the remote front against the camera

(approx 10cm from it) press a button and look in the display on the phone.

if the controller works you should se a blue light in the display coming from the remote front.

if no light: try other batteries again note the battery polarity. no light= controller broken.

if there is light= the remote is working. try to disconnect power from the DVD for a few minutes,

and try again. if it still not works the player is propably broken.

Good Luck

Electrolux oven eog7330xn stopped working

Hi Chaps,
I have an 18 month old Electrolux Gas oven model No: EOG7330XN which worked for 14 days then died. There was no power displaying and I called Electrolux to service within the warranty period. The engineer removed the front control panel and replaced a fuse inside which brought it back to life.
Am I right this is possible, I have removed the panel but can't see any fuses?

Killed the microwave by running it empty for 30 minutes.

YES THERE IS AN INTERNAL FUSE OR DIODE YOU CAN CHANGE, BUT YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL AN LET A PRO DO IT, YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO GET ZZZAPPPP WITH THE CAPACITOR THAT STORAGES HIGH VOLTAGE INSIDE TO PROVIDE THE MICRO WITH POWER, IT MAY SEEM LIKE A LIL UNIT BUT IT CAN HURT YOU IF YOU DONT DE-ACTIVATE IT RIGHT, NOT SURE IF THE DIODE WOULD BRING IT BACK BUT CHECK WITH A SERVICE MAN, BEFORE DOING ANYTHING I WOULD!
