If you mean every 40 miles you have to open gas cap to restart, the gas tank vent is clogged, not allowing air into the gas tank to replace the fuel leaving, creating a vapor lock.
hello, check the key way on the flywheel, when engine is stoped suddenely this will happen, shears the keyway and throws out of time, want start, hope this helps,
You mean the ABS light? It only shows the abs system is not working, you will still have brakes, but no anti lock. The light will not go off, it is catatonic. Till you fix it, and most people don't fix it, it is expensive, and a piece of tape over the light works good. My light came on 10 years ago, still on, no anti lock brakes, never noticed they weren't there. Hope this helps.
you didnt mention anything to do with the carbs so try some "Sea foam".... purchase at Autozone ($10) pour 1/3 can to two gallons fuel and drive it around for a good 10 to 15 miles and get on it once in awhile, ride safe..if the carbs are dirty or clogged... they wont be after your ride..there might be a little hesitation your first couple of miles till it starts to work..it took my bike 10 miles before it cleared out..bump start your bike if you have to to get it going and keep it going till it clears up.
Had a simular problem with a 318 myself, they are notorious to get air locked after replacing the thermostat, should have a blead screw on the main water hose, start the car and get up to temp then slowly undo the screw until water starts seeping, should be bubbly, persist with topping up the water until water runs clear, do not drive the car untill air lock is clear or it could blow the head gasket£££££ and or radiator.

I hope this helps. If it does, please take a moment to give me a rating. A rating of "very helpful" would be greatly appreciated.
When that happens loosen the fuel cap and see if it stays running. If this is a gravity feed system make sure you have the correct fuel filter on it,the clear paper filters can allow vapor lock to happen, put the small briggs and stratton filter in it,which has a small chamber and a stainless screen. Also make sure there is no excess fuel line that would cause a dip or a high spot for a vapor lock to occur.
Use a 2x4 at least 1-3' long. Clear the grass chute so you have unobstructed passage from the back of the mower and into the blades. Wedge the 2x4 longways in through the chute and up against the blade. The other end can be **** up against something sturdy i.e. a concrete block, a wall, etc... (in my case I used my leg). Take your wrench and crank like hell.
