No electronic display. I read replacing C3 on the control board will fix. cau you confirm

On my stove the,
F1 - which showed after a minute of power. The clock didn't work but manual element and oven controls would. Basically the circuit board would not switch to 'digital'. After I checked the board components and seeing none were burned- I resoldered all the components except the chips( to rule out a 'cold' joint and replaced the largest capacitor near the display with a new capacitor of the same value but a higher voltage. PROBLEM SOLVED,
Cold solder joints are common and are very difficult to identify.
Fine point soldering/retouching all connections except the chips and replacing the caps have worked, and is an easy first step prior to a new board costing $$$'s. Mine cost 15 mins of time and $2.88 in caps. Give it a precise with your soldering please.

Many ovens have a bi-metal thermal fuse-also called a thermal limit switch-that protects the oven from overheating. The oven thermal fuse trips when the temperature in the oven gets too hot. After the thermal fuse trips, the oven won't heat. If the thermal fuse trips after the self-cleaning cycle, try resetting the fuse by turning off electricity to the oven, removing the exterior back panel, and pushing the reset button. If the fuse tripped during normal operation, replace it. If the problem persists, the electronic oven control board might require replacement. Reset the thermal fuse after replacing the control board.

F2 - E6 Cancel key drive line open 1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

E2 F6 ??? What the? Oven came with house, no manual.

Your oven temperature sensor has failed(e-2) as well as your electronic control board(f-6). The oven temp sensor, electronic control board and the touchpad must be replaced . Approximate cost of parts is $500.00. Before you decide what to do, check the thermal fuse at the control panel first. If blown, replace it and the temp sensor. If you are lucky the control board may still be good.

I have a Kenmore Elite slide in electric range and the oven will not preheat to temperature (even after 40 min.) The repair man says I need a new control panel that will cost me almost 500 bucks...Any...

Hi. the electronic oven control board actually costs 198.00 but, the labor charges will inflate the cost because of the need to disassemble and add new wire harnesses. On most models, this relay is separate from the actual control board and it is usually linked via, wires. I would check around to see if you could get a second and maybe a third opinion. In my experience, you should just be able to replace the temp sensor or relay and that should fix the issue. Normally, if the control board is experiencing any issues, you will see a error code of some sort. I would defiantly get a second or third opinion before allowing the service tech to do the repair. that repair cost seems to be highly inflated in my view.

Please rate and god bless:)
