Plz try to clean the drive with lens cleaner if the problem persist then you have to buy a new one

Dell gx 260 there is no disc in the drive.


OK, first of all you said you put a blank DvD in the drive. Make sure your dell has a DvD writer. Look on the drawer of the drive and see does it say DvDrw or DvDROM. It has to say Rw for rewritable and not ROM for Read Only Media. Maybe you have a Combo Drive that is DvDrom and CDrw which means it will read both DvD's and Cd's but in can only Write CD's.

If in fact you do have a DvD writer make sure you're not trying to put a Blue Ray disc in the drive.

Lastly, remove the DvD from the drive. Click Start/My Computer. Notice what it brings up as to your DvD Drive. Does it Say DvDrw or just plain ole DvD. DvD means it will only read a DvD.

XPS One will not read CDs or play DVDs


1.use original disc, bcz some brand drives not supported all the discs available in the market.
2.cheak with other disc,if any disc cant read ,then

* Open Your CPU system cabinet,then cheak the data cable and power cable of the Dvd/Cd Drive.(You may change the other power card in your system already had)

* change the data cable
3.if u still have the problem,then finaly replace the new drive.LG Dvd Drive is beswt one.because it can read all discs.

Driver needed for TSST Corp CDDVDW TS-H653N SCSI CdRom Device please. DVD drive shown in My Computer, and MS says I have the correct driver for this device. But, it doesn't work.


If the computer still cannot read a disc, there may be a problem with the drive. Go to method 3 to troubleshoot the CD or DVD drive. If the computer can read the other disc, there is a problem with original CD or DVD. Contact the manufacturer of the damaged disc to obtain a replacement. Method 3: Try a different disc drive If the disc is clean and undamaged, check whether there is a problem with the drive. To do this, follow these steps: If the computer has more than one disc drive, insert the disc in a different CD or DVD drive to see whether it can read the disc. If your computer does not have more than one disc drive, you can insert the disc in a different computer. If the other CD or DVD drive can read the disc, there may be a problem with your CD or DVD drive. Go to method 5. If the other CD or DVD drive cannot read the disc, the disc may not be compatible with the drive. Go to method 4. Method 4: Make sure that the disc is compatible with the drive Check the following list to make sure that the disc that you are trying to use is compatible with your CD or DVD drive. A DVD disc is incompatible with a standard CD drive. A CD-RW disc is incompatible with a CD drive that does not support CD-RW discs. A DVD disc is incompatible with a drive that does not have a DVD logo on the front. If the disc is compatible, go to method 5. Wont read any type of disc


1. this is usually due to the laser reader in the CD or DVD drive has failed or the disks are dirty or scratched. or the DVD drive isn't capable of reading the disks at a certain speed and need replacement .
2. of the DVD cable has become disconnected at the motherboard connection.
3.DVD drive may need replacement.

Dvd drive not reading a disc


If this happens with every disc, then your drive needs fixing/cleaning or replacement. If it only happens with a specific disc such as your game, then something's wrong with the disc. If it's a homemade DVD you may be dealing with copy protection. Try cleaning the disc and the player. Try the disc in another computer.

there is not you can enable or disable you system to use the dvd-r discs..
but check and see if your dvd player or drive is compatible of reading the dvd-r format of the discs.

check the cartoon or google it with the model number..

LG dvd drive has stopped reading dvd's


hi
first check your dvd's data cable and power supply.
then if stiill pro remain clean your lense or replace it.
if u have warrenty then replace it
