Question about Dell 968w Printer

Hello, I am using a Dell 968w printer. I have run the "clean nozzles" function and aligned the cartriges a few times, which are about half full. Unfortunately, I still have the same problem I started with which is: as the page prints, the top is nice and clear, but the text gradually fades and blurs as it reaches the end of the page. The same thing occurs with each page: it starts out clear and is blurry at the bottom. This is super inconvenient...... Any suggestions? Thanks! ~Paige

Poor print quality of a document or picture may be the result of low ink levels or dirty printer nozzles or contacts.

To check the printer's ink levels, perform the following steps:

1.

Click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to Dell Printers, and then point to Dell (printer model).
2.

Click Dell Printer Solution Center.

3.

Locate the printer's ink levels on the lower right corner of the Dell Printer Solution Center window.
4.

If the printer's ink levels indicate that ink cartridges are empty, click the Order Ink button to place an online order for replacement ink cartridges.

» Clean the printer contacts and print a test page

To manually clean the printer nozzles and contacts, perform the following steps:

1.

Turn the printer off and remove the power cord from the back of the printer.
2.

Open the printer lid.
3.

Manually move the ink-cartridge carrier to the left by gripping the top of the rubber carrier belt and gently pulling it across towards the right hand side of the printer.
4.

Take a warm, semi-damp paper towel and gently clean the wiper on the right side of the maintenance station.
5.

Lift up on the cap(s) that cover the ink cartridge(s).
6.

Remove the ink cartridge(s), and using a new warm, semi-damp paper towel, gently clean the contacts on the ink cartridge(s).
Verify that the contacts on the ink cartridge(s) is/are sufficiently dry prior to re-inserting into the printer.
7.

Re-insert the ink cartridge(s) back into the correct printer slot(s).

7.

Close the printer lid.
8.

Re-attach the printer power cord to the back of the printer unit.
9.

Press the Power button to turn the unit back on.
10.

Click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to Dell Printers, and then point to Dell (printer model).
11.

Click Dell Printer Solution Center.
12.

Click the Maintenance tab.
13.

Click the Print a test page icon.
A test page prints.

The printer will make sounds when cleaning the nozzles that are not commonly heard during normal usage

Contact dell if you are within warranty. Some parts will probly need replaced. The following parts are possible culprits for this issue.

· Magenta Developer Assembly
· The Drum
· Transfer Roller
· Magenta Toner

There could be dust/ Toner Dust accumulated on the mirrors and lenses inside the printer, which partially blocks laser beams and requires cleaning/ servicing by a professional.

Not printing black


Sounds like the print head needs alignment. If an "auto" alignment can't or won't be run, somewhere in the maintenance section of your printer driver software should be an operation for running a print head alignment and doing adjustments to get the printer aligned for clear printing. First you should check the maintenance program for "head cleaning" and run a couple of head cleaning cycles to see if a clogged head is the problem...

I have a Picture mate 100, which I have not used for some while. Just inserted a new cartridge & used "Clean Print Head" function 4 times but still have v poor quality on Black & Yellow....

1. Use paper recommended by Epson

2. Use genuine Epson ink cartridges

3. Avoid using old or damaged ink cartridges

4. Make sure the printer is on a flat, stable surface

5. Make sure your paper is not curled, damaged, dirty, or too old

6. Make sure the paper type selected in the printer driver is appropriate for the type of paper loaded in the printer.

7. Clear the High Speed checkbox in the printer driver and run the Paper Guide Cleaning utility.

8. If your printer has a lever/paper thickness lever, make sure it is in the paper position.

If printouts are still poor after following the advice above, the issue could be related to the alignment of the print head or caused by a partially blocked print head.

You can check the print head nozzles from your computer by using the Nozzle Check utility. In some cases blurred prints could be caused by blocked nozzles on the print head. Whilst less common, this should be checked to eliminate it as a potential cause.

also recommend that a standalone nozzle check (Self Test) is printed to rule out an issue such as interference from an electromagnetic field, such as that which can be caused by PC speakers.

The printhead alignment could also cause this to happen I also recommend you use the Head Alignment utility, accessible from the Maintenance/Utility section of the printer driver.

Not printing correctly. Says to align cartriges. After aligning cartriges, it stills prints incorrectly no mater how many times I align cartriges.


Clean the ink cartrige and the cartrige carrier with lukewarm water or alcohol on a cotton cloth and then install the cartridge. Even if that does not work then you will have to reset the printer for which turn off the printer and then press and hold power and start buttons for 10-15sec and then release.. Then try it again.

Replaced cartriges with remanafacuter. Front


Try removing all 4 ink cartridges and unplug the power.

Close the ink cover, leave the ink cartridges out and then plug the power back in.

Once the printer boots up completely, reinstall the cartridges

When I turn on my Lexmark printer X5470 it always says to align Cartriges ins this normal?


Hello. Printer normally does the alignment printing whenever you do something on the cartridges (removing, reseating or replacing). Try to remove the cartridges from the printer. Clean the nozzles using a damp paper towel, if necessary. Close the cover. Unplug the printer from the power source. Plug it back in after 10-15 seconds. When it's ready, insert the cartridges. Let the printer print the alignment page again. Let it finish the whole page without cancelling it. Check if the problem persists. Hope this helps.

Black ink nozzle clogged, cannot print no matter how many times i run nozzle cleaning.


if it has ink in it, then remove the black cartrige and take a damp cloth with water and wipe the print head,( once you wipe it a few times, you should see black ink on the cloth)

Printer says alignment problem, prints only part of black color


first remove the color cartrige and clean the nozzles of the printer and cartridge and run the alignement utilty.

INK WARNING


Not very familiar with epson so just a guess:

take out the cartriges turn off the power of the printer, make sure contacts are clean, place cartriges back in and try the align options (works with my hp)
