Question about Apple iPod nano

1 Answer

Ipod problems My 4Gb Ipod Nano Gen II or III (its a couple of years old), was working fine up until a couple of days ago. The 'Play' button stopped working, just did nothing when pressed, which wasn't really an issue cos the middle button still worked, but now the backlight has also stopped working! No reason, I was listening to it and suddenly and the light died and never came back!! Are these problems related, and can it be fixed?

My ipod Nano Middle button wont work. The wheel works fine, but i cant select anything with the select button. It was working 3 days ago, but now it wont work.

try resetting it by pressing the MENU and PLAY button simultaneously for a few seconds. that usually resolves common problems dealing with the clickwheel.

Buttons don't work on ipod nano

Had the same probs with 4th gen nano. Keys frozen. Reset it loads of times etc etc.
Use a very sharp knife or razer blade and make a small gap at the bottom, back. Between the white bottom plate and back of your ipod. While the knif is in you will notice the keys start working!!!! I used a small peice of a playing card and wedged it in the gap, up the back, only about 10mm. Its worked ever since!!!!! Hurray

Ipod nano 4gb won't work

To return it to its normal operating state, you will have to reset iPod.

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Hope I could help you.

Compatability with 4th gen nano

I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.
